Australia’s second-largest fitness network, Viva Leisure, is expanding its portfolio with the launch of a new low-cost gym brand, Zoo Fit, marking the company’s entry into the value fitness segment and a significant growth push into Western Australia.
The first Zoo Fit locations will open in Wanneroo and Mandurah in late July 2026, with additional WA sites planned shortly after as part of a broader national rollout over the next 12 to 18 months.
The launch represents the next phase of Viva Leisure’s multi-brand strategy, which spans premium, mid-market and boutique fitness offerings across Australia, New Zealand and India.
Viva Leisure Managing Director and CEO Harry Konstantinou said Zoo Fit was designed to address a clear market gap for high-quality, affordable fitness experiences.“WA is one of the strongest growth opportunities in the country for fitness, and we saw a clear gap in the market for a genuinely value-led offering that doesn’t compromise on experience,” Konstantinou said.
“Zoo Fit delivers exceptional value boasting world-class equipment, wellness and recovery offerings, and 24/7 access at a price point that makes fitness more accessible to more Australians.”
Operating more than 510 locations globally and serving more than 650,000 members, Viva Leisure has grown rapidly since listing on the ASX in 2019 with 29 locations and 47,500 members.
The company’s portfolio currently includes Club Lime, Plus Fitness, hiit republic, Club Pilates, GROUNDUP, and Supp Society, alongside strategic investments in World Gym Australia and Boutique Fitness Studios.
Mr Konstantinou said Zoo Fit contributes to the company’s broader vision of “Shaping the Future of Fitness” by making health and fitness more accessible, engaging and personalised for Australians at every stage of their fitness journey.
“By combining a diverse portfolio of brands with our integrated technology ecosystem, we are delivering smarter, more connected fitness experiences both in club and online,” he said.
“We believe the future of fitness is flexible, inclusive and deeply personal, and Zoo Fit is an important part of building that future.”
“We already operate premium and mid-market brands successfully, but we identified an opportunity to create a dedicated low-cost, high-value proposition that reflects changing consumer expectations,” he said.
“Consumers are increasingly value conscious, but they still expect quality, flexibility and convenience. Zoo Fit has been built specifically for that shift.
”Zoo Fit memberships will start from $8.88 per week for gym access and $14.88 per week for gym and wellness access. In a first of its kind in the Australian fitness industry, Zoo Fit will also be offering a ‘Fit Fam’ membership allowing families to train together under one flexible membership. Starting at $24.80 per week, the ‘Fit Fam’ membership covers two adults and two teenagers (aged 13 – 17), with the ability to add up to two additional teenagers.
“Zoo Fit is part of our diversification strategy. By not limiting ourselves to one category or demographic, we’re de-risking growth and building a brand that drives long-term performance for our members, franchisees and shareholders,” Konstantinou said.
“Zoo Fit becomes the missing piece in our portfolio strategy and allows us to serve a broader cross-section of the market.”
The company said Western Australia was selected as the launch market due to strong population growth, increasing health and wellness participation, and Viva Leisure’s existing operational footprint in the state.
Viva Leisure’s broader growth strategy is underpinned by its proprietary fitness technology ecosystem including Viva Pay, The Hub, Access Control and Fling Pass.
Zoo Fit pre-sales are now open ahead of the July launch. Founding members receive eight weeks free and lock in their membership price for life. For more information visit https://zoo.fit/.
