HYROX, The World Series of Fitness Racing, has announced that for the first time it is inviting cities across the world to bid to host the HYROX World Championships. HYROX has now opened two separate opportunities for bidding, the Season 2025/26 World Championships event or Season 2026/27 World Championships event.
HYROX is one of the world’s fastest growing sports, attracting elite and competitive athletes and regular gym-goers alike. It is a global fitness race for all which has experienced exponential growth in recent years – with 650,000 athletes set to race in Season 2024/25, and expected to hit one million participants in Season 2025/26.
The HYROX World Championships is the grand finale event of each HYROX Season – hosted in Nice, France last year and heading to Chicago, USA in June this year. Athletes and spectators travel from across the globe to the host city, for a multi-day event which includes build up, pre-registration, the signature opening ceremony, four days of racing, globally- renowned sponsor activations and closing celebrations.
The event brings huge economic value to local businesses, while the thrilling and highly competitive showdowns of the Elite 15 races are livestreamed by thousands of viewers worldwide – putting the destination in the centre of the spotlight as a global hub for sports.
HYROX is now seeking two independent destinations to host this prestigious event in 2026 and 2027. The bid requires the city to offer HYROX financial and commercial support to execute at a world class level. The destination will be given a platform to demonstrate its capabilities in organising large-scale international sporting events, have its global visibility enhanced within the fitness and wellness sectors and establish lasting relationships with HYROX.
The Season 2025/26 and Season 2026/27 HYROX World Championship events are each anticipated to attract over 6,000 athletes from 80+ countries, plus 10,000 spectators.

The deadline for destinations to submit a bid is 1st May 2025. Destinations must reach out directly to HYROX to request an invitation to quote, with further details shared. All bids must then include a completed financial proposal and supporting documents, they will be judged based on an evaluation criteria which includes venue and technical support, and commercial and branding support.
