Climatic emerged from stealth with $10 million in seed funding to pioneer the daily lung health category and bring proactive respiratory care into everyday wellness. The company is shifting lung care from something people address only reactively during illness or environmental crises to a consistent part of daily health and performance. Despite taking more than 20,000 breaths per day and living in environments where 99% of the global population is exposed to air quality below World Health Organization standards, lung health has remained largely absent from preventive health routines (WHO, 2022). Climatic is establishing daily lung health as a foundational wellness pillar alongside sleep, nutrition, hydration, and gut health.
The round was led by Lerer Hippeau, an early-stage, generalist fund in New York whose investments include category disruptors including Warby Parker, Allbirds, and Glossier, among 400 other companies across healthcare, robotics, cyber, fintech, and AI. Additional participation came from BBGV, Brand Foundry, Cade Ventures, Good Friends, and Space Station. The investment will help advance scientific research, expand the team, and launch L Max, a first-of-its-kind daily lung health system, in late spring 2026.
Climatic is co-founded by CEO Eric Kau, a seasoned operator who previously scaled Seed Health as COO and held foundational roles at Chewy and Amazon, and Chief Commercial Officer Allie Melnick, former Brand GM and CEO within Harry’s Inc., where she built and expanded multiple consumer brands globally. Together, they bring deep experience in science-driven consumer health, operational excellence, customer focus, and brand building.
“For far too long, lung health has been a reactive category. Environmental exposure is a challenging reality we all face, and people need simple tools that provide daily support. Climatic leverages respiratory research and clinical science to give consumers a way to support their lungs proactively instead of only reacting when something goes wrong,” said Eric Kau, Co-founder and CEO of Climatic.
Climatic’s debut is backed by more than three years of foundational research led by Chief Science Officer Dr. Dale Christensen, Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center. This work includes collaboration with Dr. Juan Sabater, Director of the Pulmonary Research and the Friedman Advanced Research Institute at Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida. The team conducted a new in vivo study using Dr. Sabater’s established model of impaired mucociliary clearance—the body’s primary mechanism for removing mucus and contaminants from the lungs, which is often disrupted by pollution, wildfire smoke, cigarette or vape aerosols, and everyday respiratory stressors. In this model, a single administration of Climatic’s daily L Max formulation improved mucus clearance by more than 50%, with effects observed within minutes and sustained throughout the eight-hour observation period. Replicated across more than ten independent tests, these findings are now being prepared for peer-reviewed publication and illustrate the potential of natural, science-backed compounds to meaningfully enhance cleansing of the lung, a core biological process essential to long-term lung health function.
Climatic has also conducted multiple user studies, including a five-week trial with endurance athletes, where 98% reported easier breathing during workouts, an average 6% improvement in time trials, and 80% saw improvements in heart rate variability within two weeks. A larger placebo-controlled, double-blind randomized clinical study is now underway.
After over three years of product development and testing, Climatic will publicly launch L Max, the first daily lung health system, in late spring 2026. Designed to support clearer airways, easier breathing, the system represents the first consumer offering built specifically for everyday, all natural, non-prescription lung support.
“Wellness culture has taught us to hydrate, moisturize, supplement, recover, and optimize, but we still overlook the organ that powers whole body health through oxygenation. In ten years, taking care of your lungs will be as routine as brushing your teeth. Climatic exists to power that shift by creating trusted products that fit naturally into people’s daily lives,” said Allie Melnick, Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Climatic.
Climatic has built a coalition of experts across respiratory science, elite performance, consumer health, and personal wellness. The company’s advisory collaborators include leaders such as Dr. Bruce Johnson of Mayo Clinic, Ironman champions Tim O’Donnell and Matt Hanson, and consumer category builders from Harry’s, Warby Parker, Seed, and AG1. This multidisciplinary expertise informs Climatic’s approach to bringing respiratory science to consumers in a way that is rigorous, safe, and accessible.
Climatic’s vision is rooted in the idea that lung health can no longer be reserved for moments of crisis. The rise of wildfires, pollution spikes, and urban air-quality concerns has made environmental exposure part of everyday life. Climatic aims to give people a way to support their lungs in the same habitual manner as hydration, skincare, supplementation, or recovery practices, establishing lung care as a lasting health habit. The company’s future roadmap includes additional products aimed at redefining environmental health and expanding how people care for their bodies amid today’s evolving conditions.
