FluidLogic’s GPR50 uses proprietary Active Hydration™ technology for personalized hydration protocols to boost performance, increase safety, and slash recovery time
FluidLogic, the leader in high-performance hydration systems, today announced the launch of the GPR50, the world’s first intelligent hydration pack providing personalized hydration for two-wheeled adventurers using proprietary Active Hydration™ technology. The GPR50 will retail for an introductory price of $479, and is available for purchase at FluidLogic.com and in-store at select powersports dealer locations nationwide.
FLUIDLOGIC USHERS IN THE FUTURE OF HYDRATION
Proper hydration is vital to the performance and safety of those in high-performance sports and demanding environments. Studies have found that a 1% drop in hydration can lead to a 12% drop in performance, and a 3-4% hydration loss could result in a 25-50% loss in performance and productivity (Source: PubMed).
FluidLogic’s proprietary Active Hydration™ algorithm factors in users’ unique biometrics, level of exertion, and environmental data. This data, input to the FluidLogic App, informs a personalized hydration plan, delivering precise amounts of water needed to maintain optimal hydration levels throughout high-performance activities. The algorithm generates a “microdose” protocol, providing water at specific intervals to ensure users stay actively and properly hydrated. Haptic reminders notify users when to drink, and water is delivered via an in-helmet headset at the push of a button. FluidLogic’s patented Maglock water delivery system uses magnetic technology for easy connection and disconnection, making the system simple to use and safe from snags. This tech is stored in an all-weather backpack with an EVA spine, made for the toughest environments. This advancement in hydration technology is the first of its kind and revolutionizes high-performance sports as we know it.
“By the time someone feels thirsty during activity, they are already indicating dehydration,” said Dr. David Ferguson, PhD ACSM-CEP at Michigan State University, and FluidLogic Scientific Advisor. “Dehydration and sweat loss can induce mental and physical fatigue, impacting user performance and reaction time. It is vital that those participating in high endurance and powersports are properly and actively hydrated for their safety and focus. FluidLogic is the first to properly address this concern.”
“The GPR50 is the first step in reimagining the hydration and performance industries. Using the same foundational technology we have in place in professional motorsports, FluidLogic is able to deliver this critical performance gear to a broader audience, allowing users to completely optimize their performance through intelligent hydration,” said Sara Blackmer, CEO of FluidLogic.
FluidLogic’s Active Hydration™ is a success factor used by the military and used by some of the winningest NASCAR and IndyCar drivers including Jimmie Johnson, Alex Palou, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and more.
“FluidLogic has been critical to my success, and as an investor, I am proud of this next step in FluidLogic’s evolution to bring the hydration technology that is in my racecar to recreational athletes,” said Jimmie Johnson, NASCAR driver and seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion.
GPR50 PRODUCT FEATURES:
This innovation in hydration technology comes on the heels of a $15M Series A Extension Funding Round that fueled new product development for hydration products like the GPR50 and the VMR in-vehicle hydration system. Additional versions and attachments will be released later this year to support a wider range of activities like trail running and hiking.
