Stamina announced the public launch of its triathlon training app on the Apple App Store, delivering personalized plans for triathletes training from Sprint to Ironman. Built by former product managers and endurance athletes Willem Duyck and Shuowang He, Stamina addresses a growing cohort of 20–40-year-old, digitally native athletes seeking an affordable, beginner-friendly way to prepare for triathlons without hiring a coach.
Triathlon participation in Europe continues to boom among runners, cyclists, and swimmers who are new to one or two disciplines. Many rely on static PDF plans or piece together advice from forums and spreadsheets. Stamina replaces those static plans with structured, constraint-aware programming that adapts to an athlete’s schedule, experience across the three sports, and target race.
Stamina’s training system & algorithm is designed in partnership with two active advisors: elite swim coach and professional triathlete Greg Harper, and professional triathlete and content creator Ari Klau. Harper contributed to the design of Stamina’s swim workout library and progressions, while Klau collaborated on the framework for bike and run progressions across base, build, and race-specific phases.
Upon onboarding, athletes specify race distance and date, background by discipline, weekly time availability, and preferred long-session days. Stamina then generates a plan that balances swim, bike, and run volume, distributes intensity appropriately, and adjusts when constraints change (e.g., travel, missed sessions, or moving key workouts). Plans are presented in clear, script-friendly formats that align with how athletes execute sessions day-to-day.
Key product elements include:
- Personalized programming across Sprint, Olympic, 70.3, and Ironman distances, with progressions tuned to each athlete’s starting point.
- Constraint-aware scheduling that reflects work and life demands while preserving training intent.
- Custom workout libraries for technique and aerobic development in the pool, endurance and threshold development on the bike, and economy and durability on the run.
- Device compatibility including export to Garmin for structured execution, with metric and imperial support (and more device compatibility coming very soon).
- Beginner-friendly guidance with pre-written comments custom to each workout, tailored & written by professional triathletes.
“Thousands of new triathletes each year are serious about the goal but don’t want to spend €200+ per month on coaching or learn periodization from scratch,” said Willem Duyck, Stamina co-founder and CEO. “Stamina gives them a plan they can trust, adapts to their life, and keeps the process simple via an easy-to-use mobile app.”
“Our focus is practicality over novelty,” said Shuowang He, Stamina co-founder and CTO. “We built a product that meets athletes where they are—often strong in one discipline and new in another—and helps them progress across all three without overcomplicating execution.”
Early users have used Stamina to complete T100 Sprint races, 70.3’s, and full IRONMAN races, citing the clarity of weekly structure and the ability to maintain consistency alongside demanding schedules. Stamina is positioned for pure beginners, first-timers, and experienced age group athletes who take training seriously but prefer an app-based solution over generic PDF plans or personal coaching.
