UBX [pronounced You-Box], the world’s fastest-growing boxing and strength fitness franchise, has reached another major milestone with the opening of its first location in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The new gym at Marina Gate offers residents and visitors a convenient, world-class fitness experience in one of Dubai’s most sought-after areas. As one of Dubai’s premier fitness destinations, the Marina is home to an active community that values innovation and variety in their workouts. With its bustling promenade, waterfront apartments, and high-end fitness culture, Dubai Marina is an ideal match for UBX’s dynamic training concept.

A Successful 2024 Sets the Stage for Expansion

2024 was a year of significant achievements for UBX. The brand continued its successful partnerships with adidas Boxing and Universal Pictures, with exciting campaigns and collaborations focused on adding value for their members. UBX also continued the rollout of its Extended Access feature globally, giving members the ability to train outside of coached hours. This innovation, paired with UBX’s rolling start times, has made the workout experience even more flexible and accessible, allowing members to fit the unique boxing and strength workout into their schedules with ease.

Global Growth Continues

UBX’s expansion into the UAE is the next step in their road map to grow to over 600 locations in the next five years. This first quarter of 2025 alone has kicked off with the opening of UBX Gakugeidaigaku in Japan on January, 14th, the seventh location in the country, and will continue with several more global launches scheduled in the coming weeks, including:

  • Tanjong Pagar, Singapore
  • Old Greenwich, Connecticut, USA
  • Margaret River, WA, Australia
  • Greenford Quay, London, UK

“Dubai Marina is the perfect entry point for UBX into the UAE market,” says Tim West, UBX Co-Founder and Managing Director. “With its stunning waterfront setting, thriving community, and residents who embrace health and fitness, this location mirrors the vibrancy and energy of the UBX brand. Our combination of boxing and strength training is designed for all fitness levels, offering flexibility and accessibility that resonate with busy, modern lifestyles.”

The UBX Difference

Founded in 2016 by fitness and tech entrepreneur, Tim West and four-time world champion boxer, Danny Green, UBX combines boxing and strength training in a flexible, 12-round circuit format. Unlike traditional gyms or boxing studios, UBX offers:

  • Flexible start times, removing class-timetables allowing members to train when it suits them
  • 1-on-1 coaching, ensuring personalized support for all fitness levels.
  • Extended Access, enabling workouts beyond staffed hours.
  • A world-class community, powered by a network of gyms and the UBX app.

“Boxing is experiencing a golden era, and we’re thrilled to bring UBX to a region with such a strong affinity for combat sports,” says Danny Green, UBX Co-Founder. “We’re proud to provide an inclusive, high-energy fitness experience that’s as fun as it is effective. UBX has always been about breaking down barriers and making boxing accessible to everyone.”

With over 100 locations already spanning Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Ireland, the UK, Japan, the UAE, and the USA, UBX is poised to continue its global expansion across both existing and new markets.
