Built by three leaders in fitness, wellness, and community, the World’s Toughest Mile is a new national event series designed to bring cities together through shared effort and tough work done side by side.
The challenge was created by Eric Hinman, Guido Trinidad, and Wyatt Ewing. Trinidad is known for Peak360 CrossFit and the creation of Wodapalooza. Hinman is a hybrid athlete and entrepreneur who has shaped community-based fitness culture across the country. Ewing Founder of Ice Barrel and is a growing voice in recovery, resilience, and intentional living. Together, they set out to create something that blends toughness, connection, and wellness into a single experience.
At the center of the concept is Hinman’s original version of the toughest mile. Four laps on a track. Three laps of work that demand discipline. Burpee broad jumps. Walking lunges. Bear crawls. Only the final lap is a run. Nothing dressed up. Just honest work and a clear test of will.
“I started hosting these community hardest mile workouts, and people really took to it,” says Hinman. “Everyone walks away having accomplished something they were not sure they could do. I love combining bonding over discomfort with the endorphin rush that follows. It allows people to connect on a level that is hard to find anywhere else.”
Hinman sees it as more than a physical test. “When I first tried the challenge, I used handstand walks for four hundred meters and it took nearly thirty minutes. I scaled it so anyone could do it, because the point is not perfection. The point is showing up with others and grinding through something tough.”
The 2026 WTM Tour will bring that experience to five cities. Each stop features the signature mile along with recovery zones, cold plunges, saunas, workshops, music, and community sessions rooted in wellness and human performance. The founders designed the tour with a clear purpose. Bring unity to cities through shared challenge.
“The toughest mile is not just about the work on the track. It is about people realizing what they can do when they show up for each other,” says Trinidad. “This tour is about bringing that spirit into communities across the country. ”
