CityPickle, New York City’s home for pickleball, announces its expansion to Times Square with its new headquarters and first year-round location in Manhattan. Set to open in fall 2025, the new flagship is located in commercial office tower 1501 Broadway, also known as the Paramount Building (formerly the home of the iconic Paramount Theatre).

CityPickle is the official seasonal partner for Wollman Rink in Central Park since 2023, opened New York City’s first-ever pickleball club in Long Island City and regularly activates across other iconic landmarks including Union Square, Hudson Yards, Brooklyn’s Atlantic Terminal and more. CityPickle Brooklyn Bridge will also debut in Spring 2026.

Spanning over 37,000 square feet on the building’s 8th floor with 18 foot ceilings, the new CityPickle location will feature seven professional courts, a complete bar and restaurant, lounge and event space, showers, and toiletry amenities. The space will also serve as CityPickle’s new headquarters and corporate office.

“There’s no better place to plant our flag than Times Square, the epicenter of culture and entertainment,” said Mary Cannon, Co-Founder of CityPickle. “When selecting the location for our flagship, accessibility was key. Being near so many subway lines allows us to welcome players from all over the city while also catering to professionals working nearby, giving them a fun and active way to connect before or after work – or even on their lunch break.”

With more than 2,000 corporate events already under its belt, CityPickle’s new central location sets the stage for the brand’s next phase of exponential growth.

“Over the last several years, we’ve had the privilege to build spaces that bring people together through the joy of pickleball,” said Erica Desai, Co-Founder of CityPickle. “As we gear up to open doors to our newest location in Times Square, we look forward to continuing to emphasize the importance of building communities through the accessible nature of the sport combined with hospitality.”

Avison Young’s Martin Cottingham, Michael Gottlieb, Patrick Steffens, and Alexis Odgers represented CityPickle, the tenant.

CityPickle’s Midtown expansion happened in partnership with Avison Young’s Martin Cottingham, Michael Gottlieb, Patrick Steffens, and Alexis Odgers, who secured the lease for the brand in one of New York’s most storied properties. Built in the 1920s as the original home of Paramount Pictures, the 885,000-square-foot tower is a true New York City landmark.

“A space like this, with high ceilings and column free areas for playing space, is a truly rare find in Manhattan, let alone at the ‘Crossroads of the World,’” said Martin Cottingham, Principal at Avison Young. “The visibility and accessibility of this historic building in the heart of Times Square is unmatched, making it the perfect place for CityPickle’s Manhattan flagship.”

Architecture firm Sentient Design Works has partnered with CityPickle to re-imagine the iconic space, home to the original Paramount Theater.

Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America, known for its fun and approachable appeal for all ages and athletic abilities. CityPickle is known for its emphasis on fostering connections and uplifting communities through the ever-growing sport. The organization plans to continue its mission to provide access to the sport to all through strong local community partnerships.
