The next chapter of wellness is being written in the Mediterranean. Spain’s Slow, a wellness studio merging science and experience design, is launching a measurement-first, 10-person longevity retreat in Mallorca from May 7–10, 2026, combining WHOOP-enabled recovery tracking, cryotherapy at the Rafa Nadal Academy, and clinical input from Dr. Ángel Durántez, one of Spain’s leading longevity physicians and medical director at Neleva Clinic.
In a market saturated with vague promises and spiritual clichés, Slow’s approach reflects a growing shift: from aspirational wellness to applied longevity. The program, called The Slow Retreat: Tomorrow’s Longevity in the Mediterranean, combines biometric data, circadian recalibration, and Mediterranean recovery protocols, marking the emergence of a new category: Wellness 2.0, where evidence supersedes excess.
“We’re not here to ‘heal’. We’re here to measure what actually helps you recover,” says Patricia Draghici, founder of Slow and co-curator of the retreat. “Longevity stops being an abstract idea when you can see your stress levels, sleep quality, and recovery improve in real time.”
Highlights include:
- Biomarker testing upon arrival (glucose and cortisol)
- WHOOP bands to track recovery in real-time
- Cryotherapy sessions at the Rafa Nadal Academy (one of Europe’s most elite athletic institutions)
- Supplementation guided by the performance brand Be Levels
- Mediterranean biohacking via circadian recalibration, Wim Hof cold plunges, coastal hikes, and an anti-inflammatory diet
“After years in venture capital, I realized we’ve optimized our calendars, not our biology,” adds Lavinia Bonomo, co-curator. “This retreat is about bringing modern science into daily life, with less noise and more recovery.”
And while the biomarkers are real, so is the human chemistry. “I’ve spent years optimizing my calendar, now I want to optimize my nervous system,” says one current participant, who asked to remain anonymous.
The experience sits somewhere between a longevity clinic and a modern off-site: data-driven, human-centered, and set against the calm of the Mediterranean coast. Comparable in quality to Clinique La Prairie or Chenot Palace, but with a smaller cohort and a more connected ethos, it’s designed as an experiment in what Slow calls “regenerative social infrastructure”, where health, community, and conversation intertwine.
With only ten spots available, registration is open now through casaslow.com.
