Power Dials Introduce a Dial-Adjusted Cycling Pedal

Power Dials recently announced the Powercage Pedal, the first cycling pedal with a rotary fit system that replaces traditional toe straps. A prominent dial on top of a cage is turned to the right to secure the rider’s foot, using an EVA foam pad. When turned left, the dial pushes the cage open to facilitate foot entry and exit.

“As an industry, we need to recognize that most fitness studio clients don’t have cycling shoes with them and don’t want to wear them in the first place,” says Power Dials owner, Stephen Cuomo, a former bicycle industry executive. “The current straps haven’t changed in over 100 years. They confuse and embarrass guests. With proper foot security, cycling feels so much better, and the workout is raised to a higher level.”

Powercage Pedals are designed to be completely self-explanatory. Users intuitively fine-tune a perfect fit by following the arrows shown on the dial, allowing for confident sprinting and a fluid pedal stroke. Eliminating the need for cycling shoes allows clients to seamlessly mix cycling with other cardio, strength, flexibility and balance workouts.

The company says several stationary bike brands plan to include its pedals as original equipment. Meanwhile, Power Dials is offering a 50% discount to commercial facilities looking to “immediately upgrade their bike fleet, decrease maintenance, and delight their clients.”

Powercage Pedals have a large textured alloy platform, a cage made from nylon composite materials, and three sealed bearings per pedal that are certified to exceed ISO commercial strength standards. The product retails for $70 per pair, and is available today at www.Power-Dials.com.
