Kinesis Integrated, a strength and performance technology company specializing in individualized training for endurance athletes, today announced a season-long partnership with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to support the school’s NCAA Division III Cross Country and Track & Field programs.
The partnership will integrate Kinesis’ technology into Rose-Hulman’s existing coaching ecosystem, enabling strength training to dynamically adapt to the demands of each athlete’s running training in real time.
Rose-Hulman’s student-athletes compete in an environment that demands excellence both in the classroom and on the track. The institution is consistently recognized as one of the nation’s leading undergraduate engineering schools, while its Cross Country and Track & Field programs have established themselves among the strongest programs in their conference.
For Head Coach Derick Lawrence, that creates a unique performance challenge: developing athletes who must balance highly demanding academic schedules with increasingly sophisticated training demands.

Strength Training Built Around the Sport
Traditionally, strength training is programmed independently from an athlete’s primary sport. Coaches may have access to running volume, intensity, race schedules and other training information, but translating that information into an appropriate strength-training load for each individual athlete can require significant time, experience and manual coordination.
Kinesis approaches the problem differently.
The platform ingests and analyzes sport-specific training data and uses that information to inform individualized strength-training prescriptions. For a runner, the athlete’s running workload remains the primary reference point, with strength training designed to complement the demands of running, not compete against them.
This creates a continuous feedback loop:
Sport training → workload analysis → strength prescription → athlete response → adjusted training
Rather than treating strength as a separate component of an athlete’s program, Kinesis positions strength training as an adaptive component of the athlete’s complete training system.
Bridging the Gap Between Sport and Strength Coaches

Strength and conditioning coaches working in collegiate environments may be responsible for hundreds of athletes across multiple sports, each with different physiological demands, competition schedules, training methodologies and recovery requirements. Translating those sport-specific demands into appropriate strength workloads, and then individualizing those workloads across a large roster, is a significant challenge.
The objective is not to replace the coach’s expertise or decision-making. Instead, Kinesis automates the data aggregation and translation required to help coaches make better-informed decisions.

The Rose-Hulman partnership represents a broader vision for how strength training can evolve within endurance sport and collegiate athletics.
Instead of prescribing strength training from a fixed template and asking the athlete’s sport to fit around it, Kinesis reverses the model: the athlete’s primary sport provides the context, and strength training adapts around it.
The result is a more individualized approach designed to help athletes train hard where it matters most, while giving coaches a clearer framework for managing the total training load.
Kinesis and Rose-Hulman will implement the system throughout the upcoming season across the Cross Country and Track & Field programs, with the goal of further integrating sport-specific data, strength training and coaching decision-making into a unified performance ecosystem.
