Climatic Appoints First Pulmonologist to Its Medical Advisory Board

Climatic, maker of L Max, the world’s first daily lung health product, today announced that board-certified pulmonary and critical care physician, Dr. Daniel Burke, MD, MBA, will join its Medical Advisory Board. Burke brings expertise in respiratory health, cardiopulmonary physiology and the effects of environmental exposures on lung health. He will advise Climatic on respiratory science, clinical research, product safety and the continued development of L Max.

“Limiting exposure to pollution whenever possible is one of the most important things we can do to protect our lungs, but we also have to be realistic. For people living in densely populated areas or regions where natural events can impact air quality, avoiding exposure isn’t always possible,” said Burke. “What interests me about Climatic is the idea that lung health can be approached proactively. There is an opportunity to build greater understanding of how everyday exposures affect respiratory health and to rigorously study new approaches designed to support the lungs’ natural function.”

Dr. Burke earned his MD and MBA from Columbia University before completing his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at NYU where he worked alongside leading physiology researchers to conduct athlete-related testing and studies. During his training, he also gained experience at the World Trade Center Environmental Health Center, an ongoing clinical and research program focused on the health effects of dust, particulate matter, and other environmental exposures.

Dr. Burke continues to practice pulmonary and critical care medicine with Pittsburgh Critical Care Associates in the UPMC system. He also serves as a Medical Advisor to Climatic, where he contributes his clinical perspective on respiratory science, clinical evidence, product safety, and health and performance communications.

Beyond clinical medicine, Dr. Burke has held leadership roles across healthcare technology and has published research on the use of machine learning to predict acute respiratory failure.
