STRONG Pilates, the global boutique fitness franchise with more than 330 studios operating or in development worldwide, is targeting 20 new UK locations in 2027, following a year of continued growth in the UK market.

The expansion marks a new phase for STRONG Pilates in the UK, moving from establishing its presence to building out a broader national franchise network across London and other major cities. A further 40 studios have opened worldwide this year, reflecting continued international demand for its hybrid fitness model.

STRONG Pilates has opened seven new studios across the UK so far in 2026, bringing its UK network to 15 studios, up from eight at the end of 2025. Recent openings include Brighton, Hackney and Kingston, with each studio featuring 15-20 workout stations equipped with STRONG Pilates’ proprietary Rowformer and Bikeformer machines. Two further locations in Maidenhead and Harpenden are in the pipeline for the coming months, alongside additional sites in development.

Nine Elms, London, is confirmed to open in early 2027. Additional franchisees are actively exploring further opportunities across London and the South East, including West Hampstead, St Albans, White City and Richmond. The pipeline provides a base for the brand’s next stage of UK growth and 2027 targets.

“UK consumers are some of the most discerning in the world when it comes to fitness. They’re time-poor, they know what good looks like, and they want results without having to split their week across three different gyms,” said Michael Ramsey, Co-Founder of STRONG Pilates. “That’s exactly what STRONG was built for. Pilates, strength and cardio come together in one session, so people get everything from a single workout. Growing from eight studios in 2025 to 15 today shows the appetite is there, and 2027 is about bringing the format to more communities across London, the South East and other major UK cities.”

The latest openings also demonstrate the range of commercial spaces that can be repurposed for STRONG Pilates studios. The Hackney studio occupies a former Nike store, while the Brighton location has been converted from a former kitchen goods store and the Kingston location from a former Carluccio’s restaurant.

The global hybrid model attracting consumers beyond Pilates

Central to STRONG Pilates’ expansion is its differentiated hybrid proposition, combining Pilates-inspired resistance training, cardio and strength work into a single 45-minute, low-impact workout.

STRONG Pilates isn’t competing for the existing Pilates market and consumers; it’s instead attracting those who are interested in a format that brings multiple training disciplines together under one membership.

The UK expansion is part of STRONG Pilates’ wider international growth strategy, following recent announcements of expansion into Saudi Arabia, and Central and Eastern Europe.

STRONG Pilates currently has 130 studios across 15 countries, with membership growth keeping pace with international expansion. Global membership has increased by 48% year-on-year, from 41,000 members in September 2025 to more than 60,500 members in September 2026, generating over $75 million in net revenue over the past 12 months. STRONG Pilates is on track to surpass 150 operating studios globally by January 2027, supported by further franchise signings.

“Finding the right franchise partners is key to growing STRONG Pilates in the UK” said John Hastings, Head of Franchise Development at STRONG Pilates. “As our UK network continues to expand, we’re looking for people who share our standards and want to build something long term. We’re also seeing significant interest across wider Europe, with some exciting announcements to come before the end of the year.”

With seven new studios already open in 2026 and further locations in the pipeline, STRONG Pilates is continuing to seek franchise partners to support its next phase of UK growth and target of 20 new locations in 2027.
