Hims & Hers is redefining universal healthcare.

What’s happening: The digital health platform acquired Australian telehealth platform Eucalyptus for $1.15B as it scales consumer-first care worldwide.

Without borders. Modeled after Hims, Australia’s Eucalyptus operates brands like Juniper, Pilot, and Kin, delivering lifestyle medicine across medical weight loss, men’s and women’s health, dermatology, and longevity.

Serving 775K patients to date across Australia, UK, and Japan, its yearly sales topped $450M. Like Hims, Eucalyptus faced regulatory issues and was barred from selling compounded GLP-1s in 2024.

Flight risk. Even amid ongoing turmoil with the FDA and pharma giant Novo Nordisk, Hims & Hers is pressing expansion for its rebel healthcare model.

Acquiring Livewell and ZAVA, it’s scaling operations in Canada and Europe, with an emphasis on the UK and Germany. On the M&A path, Hims & Hers CEO Andrew Dudum called Eucalyptus a “logical next step” to navigate differing healthcare markets:

“Healthcare challenges are global, and so is the demand for simpler, transparent, and more personalized healthcare. But how that comes to life looks different for every region and every person.”

Looking ahead: The demand for effective, consumer-first lifestyle medicine isn’t an American monoculture. As Hims unsettles the private industry at home, nationalized systems abroad are on notice.
