Larry Ellison’s Wellness Resort is Expanding

Zadún

It’s a wellness resort arms race.

The latest: Sensei, a wellness resort from Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, opened at Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton resort in Puerto Los Cabos, Mexico.

Its third site, the luxury hospitality operator is planning 20 more by 2027.

World’s apart. Located on Ellison’s private Hawaiian island, Sensei’s flagship is operated in partnership with Four Seasons, with a second independent resort on the billionaire’s former California estate.

Co-founded by The End of Illness author Dr. David Agus, all resorts center around “The Sensei Way,” preventative health protocols for movement, nourishment, and rest.

Sensei offers opt-in fitness classes, spa treatments, and mindset sessions, while staffers assigned to each guest offer WHOOP-tracked lifestyle coaching during and between stays.

Culture trip. Exploring development in Costa Rica, the Mediterranean, and Caribbean, Sensei will also integrate local cultural rituals.

At Zadún, one of many co-branded resorts to come, the Ritz-Carlton’s spa will offer traditional Mexican sweat lodge and herbal massage experiences to Sensei guests.

Looking ahead: Like Tony Robbins’ The Estate, Aman, Clinique La Prairie, a pricey Sensei stay is out of reach for the average wellness consumer. But, similar to Canyon Ranch’s urban clubs and The WELL’s licensing, The Sensei Way could become a wellness sect beyond the resort.
