On Saturday 17 October 2026, 600 athletes across 150 teams will take to the floor for the 98 Games at Sydney’s iconic Royal Hall of Industries, Sydney Swans – a facility designed for professional sports teams, giving everyday athletes an experience like no other.

  • Australian Actor, Jai Courtney will MC the 98 Games
  • Professional CrossFit athlete Ricky Gerard among those competing

Founded by former elite athlete Chris Feather, the 98 Games is the ultimate evolution of 98 Training’s uncompromising philosophy: performance over aesthetics. This premium fitness competition challenges teams of four to put their conditioning, grit, and team culture to the test across a relentless 98-minute clock.

The Competition

  • The Clock: 98 minutes of continuous work testing capacity, speed, and teamwork.
  • The Divisions: Rookie, Intermediate, and Elite – tailored for everyone from first-time competitors to seasoned athletes.
  • The Categories: Teams of four competing in Male, Female, or Mixed divisions.

“We have intentionally fostered an environment built on hard work and discipline. The 98 Games is the ultimate arena for both members and the wider community to test themselves. There are no shortcuts here; this event rewards preparation.

“Our inaugural Games brought 600 athletes to the floor, and this October we’re welcoming 600 again, by design. The goal is to run a tight, premium event focussed on athlete experience: every team has a judge in their lane, ample space and premium equipment to demonstrate their ability, resulting in performance that is both internally felt and externally measured. That experience is drawing teams from more than 50 gyms, from Tamworth to Melbourne, and two in every three come from outside 98. At 98, team culture is paramount. The Games are a direct extension of that belief: working for, and as, a team.”

— Chris Feather, Founder of 98 Training & 98 Games

Competition day runs on a 98-minute waterfall format across three arenas: one focussed on Strength, another on Conditioning, and the third on Hybrid Mixed Modality, with transitions in between. Six events total, one inspired by from each of the 98 Training lines: Strength, Capacity, Performance, Groundwork and Hybrid, along with The Final. This is where competitor’s training meets its moment.

About 98 Training

98 is not like other gyms. We are built on a simple, uncompromising philosophy: performance over aesthetics. Founded in 2010 by former professional athlete Chris Feather, 98 Gym was born out of a desire to create a training environment that replicated the discipline, effectiveness and team culture of elite-level training. 98 was built from there, and has made that environment accessible to everyone – from professional athletes to the everyday high performers.
