Astadaily Becomes First Astaxanthin Brand to Earn Clean Label Project Purity Award

Astadaily®, a Canadian wellness brand specializing in natural astaxanthin, announced that Astadaily Astaxanthin Pure has earned the Clean Label Project® Purity Award. According to Clean Label Project, Astadaily is the first astaxanthin brand to receive this recognition.

The achievement introduces a new third party purity benchmark within a wellness category more commonly differentiated by ingredient source, dosage and antioxidant positioning. It also reflects a wider shift in consumer wellness, as shoppers, retailers and industry partners increasingly look for independent evidence supporting the quality claims made by health products.

Clean Label Project purchases products through retail channels and sends them to accredited laboratories for screening. Its evaluation considers substances including heavy metals, pesticide residues, glyphosate, plasticizers and bisphenols. Products are then benchmarked against others in their category. Only those ranking within the top third of their tested category qualify for the Purity Award.

Astadaily Astaxanthin Pure first met the requirements for Clean Label Project certification before qualifying for the organization’s higher tier Purity Award. The product contains natural astaxanthin derived from Haematococcus pluvialis microalgae and is offered in individually sealed blister packaging.

Astadaily was created by Toronto based Iconthin Biotech Corp., which has developed an integrated natural astaxanthin platform spanning microalgae strain selection, indoor closed cultivation of Haematococcus pluvialis, supercritical carbon dioxide extraction and finished product development.

This integrated approach gives the company greater oversight from microalgae cultivation through to the finished wellness product. The Purity Award adds independent verification at the consumer product level following that controlled production process.
