Award-winning Filmmaker and Creative Director Philippa Price Joins ATLAS as Chief Creative Officer

ATLAS, the first brain wearable designed to capture neural data during everyday life, announced today that Philippa Price has joined as Chief Creative Officer. Price is an award-winning filmmaker and creative director known for projects with iconic brands and tastemakers including Apple Music, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Pharrell, Playboy, and Stella McCartney. Price oversees creative, which includes brand identity and voice across marketing and communications, as well as creative design. Coinciding with the new ATLAS device being available today for pre-order, Price is unveiling the vision for the company’s brand identity with a short film celebrating the most advanced technology ever invented – the human brain.

The ‘If You Only Had a Brain’ film imagines a human-first future, where advances in technology deepen our understanding of ourselves and the world around us. Inspired by the idea that every moment of creativity, connection, discovery, and wonder begins with the brain, the film serves as an introduction to ATLAS’ worldview – and a reminder that the most extraordinary technology is the one we’ve had all along. The film can be viewed on the company’s social channels and website at www.atlasmankind.com.

In 2021, neuroscientists and co-founders Ana Montero and André Marques-Smith, PhD founded ATLAS with one conviction: to truly understand the brain, we need to be able to track it in the real world, not just laboratories and hospitals.

“For that science to truly make an impact, it needs to be understood through the lens of the human experience,” said Ana Montero, co-founder & chief executive officer of ATLAS. “Philippa is a master of translating the complex into the profound and has spent her career defining cultural moments in music, fashion, and technology. She’s the perfect individual to introduce ATLAS to the world and grow our brand because she doesn’t just see the potential of our technology, she sees the human stories waiting to be unlocked by it.”

“As a creative, I believe I have a responsibility to make work that challenges humanity, inspires, and pushes us forward,” said Price. “Joining ATLAS as Chief Creative Officer has been a profound moment in my career because it’s given me the opportunity to do just that. I have joined a team of scientists, engineers, designers, and thinkers united by an obsession with the brain and a shared mission to protect, understand, strengthen, and expand humanity’s most precious technology: organic human intelligence.”

About the Film

Set to a reimagined children’s choir recording of The Wizard of Oz’s “If I Only Had a Brain,” the film playfully turns one of the world’s most recognizable songs on its head. Rather than wishing for a brain, it reminds us that each of us already possesses the most remarkable piece of technology ever created – the one responsible for every work of art, scientific breakthrough, great performance, and human connection in history.

“When I began thinking about ATLAS’ first film, I quickly realized we didn’t want to make a film about technology,” Price shared. “I wanted to make a film about the thing that makes all technology possible. Every work of art. Every scientific breakthrough, feeling, memory, idea, dream, heartbreak, achievement, and every moment of wonder and impossible experience. Everything that makes us human begins in the same place. The brain. At a moment when “artificial intelligence” dominates the global conversation, I wanted our first film to offer a simple but powerful reminder of the extraordinary intelligence we’ve carried with us all along. This is our way of introducing ATLAS, not through a product, but through a belief. That the next frontier isn’t somewhere out there. It’s already within us.”

The Atlas 1.0 is now available for pre-order at www.atlasmankind.com/shop. For more information visit www.atlasmankind.com.
