IGNITE was aptly assigned the theme as 400 Body Fit Training (BFT) franchisees from 13 countries gathered for their global conference in Cairns, Australia. The energy was palpable – and you’d expect nothing less from the teams making fitness fun in their communities every day.

With the boutique fitness brand delivering science-backed group fitness programmes, the conference is a much-anticipated annual event for face-to-face collaboration. This year’s conference focused on strategies to elevate studio performance, maximise local market impact and ignite the next phase of growth.

The event also marked a major milestone for BFT – the celebration of its 10-year anniversary.

A specially produced film took attendees back to the early days of the business and reflected on the journey from opening its first studio to becoming the global fitness community it is today. The footage celebrates the people, passion and unforgettable moments that have shaped BFT over the past decade.

“It’s a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come,” said BFT’s founder Cameron Falloon, highlighting the impact of the film. “There’s also something incredible about having our entire BFT community in one place.

“Conference gives everyone the chance to step away from their day-to-day, refocus on the bigger picture and continue learning as we evolve as a brand.”

The agenda featured a dynamic mix of breakout sessions designed to drive action and sharpen strategy. A standout moment was the keynote from renowned fitness professional Dr. Paul Bedford, who emphasised the critical role of member retention in long-term business success.

Beyond learning, franchisees exchanged ideas and shared experiences while balancing high-level planning with celebration – culminating in the annual BFT Awards, honouring excellence across the global network.

Just some of the award winners on the night included studios from the UK:

Studio of the Year:

  • International Winner – BFT St Kilda (Australia)
  • Europe Winner – BFT Hackney (UK)

Best First Year Studio:

  • International Winner – BFT Point Cook (Australia)
  • Europe Winner – BFT East Croydon (UK)

International Coach of the Year:

  • Brooke MacRae (BFT Caulfield, Australia)

For Coach of the Year, Brooke MacRae, winning the award ahead of such a talented field of fitness professionals was an incredibly proud moment.

Previously based at BFT Cauldfield in Melbourne, and now coaching at BFT Battersea and BFT Streatham in London, Brooke said, “Honestly, it still doesn’t feel real yet. To be recognised among so many incredible coaches is amazing, especially because I’ve learned so much from the people around me. I was just thrilled to make the top 10, so to actually win is incredible – it’s a special moment!

“BFT has allowed me to pursue my two greatest passions – fitness and performance – at the same time. Thanks to BFT’s international network, I’ve recently moved to the UK for more performing opportunities while also continuing to do what I love and coach at BFT.”
