Puresport today announces the launch of its new Pomegranate Ultra Electrolytes – the latest addition to one of the brands’ best-selling ranges, developed in partnership with Amy Hunt, one of Britain’s top track athletes.
Amy didn’t simply lend her name to the product either. She has been a core part of the tasting and development process from the ground up, making this one of the most genuinely athlete-driven launches in Puresport’s history. “After leading the development process, I settled on pomegranate as a fun but distinctive flavour,” she says. “It combines sweetness with tartness – the brightness draws you in, but that tartness really signifies recovery to me. The flavour aligns well with recovery drinks, which I personally find to be really important.”
Amy continues. “I like the physicality of pomegranate – you have to work hard to open it up. It requires patience and effort before you get to the sweetness. Visually and in terms of taste, they represent the blood, sweat and tears needed to succeed – but there is beauty in that too.”
Amy has been part of the Puresport family since 2025, a partnership built on shared ambition and a mutual desire to challenge convention. “We were both up and coming and looking to disrupt the status quo,” she says. “Puresport supports me not just with electrolytes, but with supplements that fit my life and routine as an athlete – on and off the track.”
Ultra Electrolytes sit at the heart of that support. Training in Italy, where heat is a daily reality, Amy relies on the range to maintain hydration through some of the most demanding sessions. “I use Puresport’s Ultra Electrolytes on the track, in the gym, on the plane and on the sofa on rest days,” she says. “They come everywhere with me – I’m always handing them out to people.”
“Hydration is one of the variables every athlete can control – regardless of what the day throws at them,” adds Dr Jamie Pugh, Scientific Advisor at Puresport. “And as Amy points out, flavour matters more than people think – if something tastes good, you actually want to drink it. Pomegranate is a great example of that, it’s distinctive enough to make taking it feel like an easy choice rather than a chore’
First launched in May 2024, the Ultra Electrolytes range quickly became one of Puresport’s top-selling products – a clean, science-backed alternative to the overly sweet, over-complicated hydration products that dominate the market. Available in convenient no-added-sugar sachets, each serving delivers a precise dose of sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium to support fluid retention, muscle function and performance when conditions demand it most. Pomegranate joins existing bestsellers: Citrus Salt, Raspberry Salt, Watermelon Salt and Orange Lemonade.
The launch comes at one of the most significant moments of Amy’s career. The coming months will see her compete at the Commonwealth Games (July 27/28th) and the European Championships (August 10–16th), before a remarkable run of Diamond League finals in Lausanne, Zurich and Brussels, culminating in the World Ultimate Championships in September.
“Behind every extraordinary athletic achievement is trust in what optimises performance. At Informed, we provide the canvas of safety that lets elite competitors like Amy perform with complete peace of mind. By testing every batch of Puresport’s new Pomegranate Ultra Electrolytes, we let athletes focus entirely on their craft.” said Jon Murthy, Head of Marketing at Informed Sport
Daniel Temm, CEO of Puresport says: “Amy is exactly the kind of athlete we want to build with – not just because of what she achieves on the track, but because of who she is off it. She is driven, considered, and genuinely invested in her performance in a way that mirrors everything Puresport stands for. We’re excited about what is still to come, and to continue building on this partnership”.
The new Pomegranate Ultra Electrolytes are available at www.puresport.co, priced at £33.00 for a pack of 30.
