Today, Bureau announces its recognition by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) as the world’s first soundproof booth company to receive the ‘Works with WELL’ trademark license. Bureau joins like-minded companies from across the globe that are committed to sharing expertise and solutions that advance people’s health and wellbeing. The new trademark demonstrates Bureau aligns with health strategies within the WELL Building Standard (WELL).
Bureau has been granted the IWBI license and to use the Works with WELL trademark after applying to IWBI and undergoing a third-party document review to confirm that specific products and features met the requirements for the license required by IWBI.
Bureau’s full product suite including Motto, One and Tuesday was evaluated across two critical health strategies under WELL Materials concept that support air quality and safety. Firstly, the product aligns with requirements under the Enhanced Material Restrictions feature, through minimizing exposure to harmful chemicals by using high-quality materials to create the safer environment for people to work in, and secondly, for having the cleaner air quality and limiting Volatile Organic Compound emissions – protecting the breathing zone of the person inside the booth and those in the larger office surrounding the booth.
By achieving this world-first recognition from IWBI, Bureau demonstrates that its spaces are not just functional but scientifically engineered to set a new international standard for human-centric design, establishing the organization as a global leader in the evolution of workplaces that seamlessly integrate health, productivity, and comfort. The status serves as a definitive statement that Bureau is on a leading path to improving working environments for employees, and signals to businesses that Bureau is a key authority in delivering spaces where the physical and mental well-being of the modern workforce are emphasized.
“As of today, no other booth company in the world holds the Works with WELL licensing,” said Tyson Gundersen, Co-Founder of Bureau. “Achieving this world-first milestone showcases Bureau is at the forefront of improving the workplace by creating healthy, functional, and people-centric environments. People spend nearly eight hours of their working day inside our booths. Because the workspace is a human environment, we focus on the details that help people function, rather than just filling a floor plan. This world-first milestone proves that a workspace can be healthy, functional, and designed for people. We are moving away from traditional, static environments toward spaces that support focus and comfort, making sure every person has the conditions they need to stay productive.”
“We’re pleased to see Bureau recognized as the first sound-proof booth company to achieve the Works with WELL trademark,” said Jessica Cooper, IWBI Chief Product Officer. “This milestone highlights how product innovation can play a meaningful role in advancing healthier, more supportive workplaces. Industry-led solutions like these are essential building blocks for creating people-first environments that prioritize well-being.”
WELL is the world’s leading standard that focuses on advancing people’s health and well-being with a library of holistic, evidence-based strategies applicable across buildings, organizations and communities. Developed over 10 years and backed by the latest scientific research, WELL outlines key building-level interventions and organizational strategies across 10 concept areas: Air, Water, Nourishment, Light, Movement, Thermal Comfort, Sound, Materials, Mind and Community.
Launched in 2022, the Works with WELL trademark licensing program recognizes products and solutions that contribute to the achieving of specific features in the WELL Standard. The Works with WELL trademark indicates specific alignment between an eligible product and at least one WELL feature or threshold, thereby informing the market of solutions available to support organizations advancing people-first places. Eligibility to use this trademark does not suggest products with this distinction guarantee the achievement of WELL Certification, a WELL rating or any standalone WELL feature.
Driven by the global demand for healthier places and healthier organizations that support people to thrive, WELL adoption has grown exponentially since its launch in 2014. As of 2025, WELL strategies have been used in six billion square-feet of spaces, supporting the health and well-being of an estimated 25 million people in nearly 100,000 locations spanning over 130 countries.
