Today, CityPickle, New York City’s home for pickleball, announces the grand opening of its Times Square flagship — a landmark moment for the fast-growing brand. Located inside the iconic Paramount Building at 1501 Broadway, the new space marks CityPickle’s first year-round location in Manhattan and will serve as the brand’s corporate headquarters.
The opening represents a major milestone for CityPickle, creating a permanent destination where Manhattan locals and visitors alike can play and connect year-round through America’s fastest-growing sport. Spanning 37,000 square feet on the building’s 8th floor, the flagship features soaring 18-foot ceilings, seven professional-grade pickleball courts, a full-service bar and restaurant, lounge and event spaces, and premium amenities including co-working phone booths, private shower suites and toiletries.
“CityPickle has always been about meeting people where culture, community, and sport collide,” said Mary Cannon, Co-Founder of CityPickle. “As the sport continues to grow at an incredible pace, Times Square felt like the perfect home for our next chapter. This space matches the energy, excitement, and inclusivity of pickleball itself.”
“Times Square represents a major step forward for CityPickle’s growth with over 2,470 court hours offered per week,” said Erica Desai, Co-Founder of CityPickle. “From Wollman Rink and Long Island City to Times Square and soon Brooklyn Bridge, we’re building destinations that bring people together on and off the court.”
As CityPickle expands into much more than just pickleball, a robust dining and cocktail menu will be at the forefront of the Times Square location, with an extensive F&B program led by COO Kim Russen. Kim brings a tenure of operations and F&B experience at renowned hospitality brands, including TAO Group and will sharpen and expand the brand’s culinary and beverage offerings across the portfolio.
“Food and beverage is foundational to any hospitality-driven brand,” said Kim Russen, COO of CityPickle. “As CityPickle expands its footprint, we’re excited to introduce a truly elevated and distinctive epicurean experience in Times Square. We envision this as a place where office tenants can host clients, nearby workers can stop in for a drink after work, and guests might just find themselves drawn into the energy of pickleball happening right in front of them.”
In establishing a permanent corporate headquarters for CityPickle, the brand sought a space that felt unmistakably New York. Housed within the historic Paramount Building, the Times Square flagship draws inspiration from the site’s rich past while embracing CityPickle’s modern, energetic identity. Once home to the iconic Paramount Theatre, the building’s theatrical legacy parallels CityPickle’s own emphasis on spectacle, community, and shared experience.
Representing CityPickle, Avison Young’s Martin Cottingham, Michael Gottlieb, Patrick Steffens, and Alexis Odgers, secured the lease for the brand in one of New York’s most historic properties. Built in the 1920s as the original home of Paramount Pictures, the 885,000-square-foot tower is a true New York City landmark.
“Finding a venue in Manhattan that can accommodate this scale and flexibility is exceptionally uncommon,” said Martin Cottingham, Principal at Avison Young. “Paired with the prominence and foot traffic of a landmark Times Square address, the Paramount Building offers CityPickle an unparalleled platform to establish its flagship and introduce the sport to an entirely new audience.”
The team worked closely with Sentient Design Works and Tectonic Builders to carefully preserve elements from the original Paramount Theatre, including the space’s rare column-free construction — unique in New York City — along with exposed brick and concrete finishes. Remnants of the original theater structure remain visible, informing a design approach that blends history with contemporary expression. Classic materials such as leather and felt are layered with dark green tones, genuine rift cut oak and modern finishes to create a warm, elevated atmosphere that feels both timeless and current.
Behind the courts, custom, private shower suites wrapped in rich green tile and accented with refined gold finishes are complemented by various bathroom locations, all designed as immersive extensions of the building’s storied past. Elevating the experience further, CityPickle has partnered with New York-based home and body care brand Element Brooklyn to bring a full suite of sustainable, luxury-grade toiletry amenities to the club.
“Our approach was to create a space that feels alive at all times,” said Jason Linde, AIA, Founder of Sentient Design Works. “The Paramount Building offered a powerful canvas, and we leaned into its scale and openness to design an environment that moves seamlessly between competition, social interaction, and relaxation. Rather than treating pickleball as the sole focus, the design supports a layered experience — where architecture, hospitality, and community coexist and elevate one another.”
Designed to support both movement and moments of pause, the layout considers how guests play, socialize, and linger. Built-in flexibility allows the space to seamlessly transition between tournaments, casual play, private events, and social gatherings centered around the bar and lounge areas. Unlike many pickleball venues that prioritize function alone, the Times Square flagship was intentionally designed to encourage guests to stay longer.
The flagship also houses CityPickle’s corporate offices, integrated directly into the floor plan. Enclosed with glass doors, the offices reinforce a sense of transparency and connection between the team and guests, further blurring the line between behind-the-scenes operations and the on-floor experience.
At the heart of the club is CityPickle’s most exclusive offering to date: only 120 memberships will be released for 2026, granting unparalleled access to the Times Square courts and community. Members receive priority booking, preferred rates and insider access to programming and events throughout the year. For companies looking to play together and host events, CityPickle Times Square also offers corporate packages that include private events, additional dedicated court time and a bespoke corporate league. The Times Square flagship dramatically expands access to the sport in Manhattan, creating one of the most robust year-round pickleball offerings in the country.
As pickleball continues its rapid rise as the fastest-growing sport in the country for the fifth year in a row, CityPickle remains at the forefront of expanding the game across New York City. Alongside the opening of its Times Square flagship, the brand also marks a major milestone with a newly signed 20-year agreement to operate Wollman Rink year-round, in partnership with Related Companies. This spring, CityPickle will further extend its footprint with the launch of its Brooklyn Bridge outpost.
Known for its commitment to connection and community-building, CityPickle has played a pivotal role in shaping the sport’s local growth. The brand remains focused on increasing access to pickleball through meaningful community partnerships, inclusive programming, and thoughtfully designed spaces that welcome players of all backgrounds.
