In observance of the 25th anniversary of September 11, Fit Fusion, a leading franchisee of Crunch Fitness, will host a 9/11 Tribute Stair Climb on Friday, September 11, across 20 Crunch Fitness locations in eight states in partnership with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF). The event will bring members, first responders and local communities together to honor the firefighters and first responders who served and sacrificed on September 11, 2001, while raising funds to benefit the NFFF.

Open to members, non-members and first responders, the Crunch Fitness 9/11 Tribute Stair Climb invites participants to take on 110 flights of stairs, or 2,071 steps, representing the 110 floors of the World Trade Center. Participants can complete the full climb, walk on a treadmill for 20 minutes, or donate to participate in the remembrance.

Through the event’s “Climb or Donate to Win” initiative, anyone who participates or donates to benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation will be entered for a chance to win a free year of a Crunch Fitness membership.

“September 11 is a day to remember the extraordinary courage, service and sacrifice of the first responders who answered the call,” said Mike Goodsell, Chief Strategy Officer of Fit Fusion. “This Stair Climb gives our members, teams and communities a meaningful way to honor those heroes together while supporting an organization dedicated to our nation’s fallen firefighters and their families.”

Local firefighters and all first responders are invited to participate in the 9/11 Stair Climb at any of the 20 participating Crunch Fitness locations and will receive complimentary access to the clubs throughout the day.

“The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation was a natural organization for us to support as we bring our communities together for this remembrance,” said Tiffany Levine, Marketing and Communications Manager for Fit Fusion. “The Foundation honors America’s fallen fire heroes, supports their families and colleagues, and works to reduce preventable firefighter deaths and injuries. It also brings communities together through 9/11 Tribute Stair Climbs across the country, making this partnership especially meaningful for our teams and members.”

The funds raised through 9/11 Tribute Stair Climbs help the NFFF create and maintain programs that support Fire Hero Families and firefighters, as well as the FDNY Counseling Service Unit.

“We are honored to work with Fit Fusion and Crunch Fitness as they help us carry forward the promise to never forget the 343 FDNY firefighters who gave their lives on 9/11 and those who have died in the line of duty since,” said Victor Stagnaro, CEO of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. “Every climber takes part in something bigger than a physical challenge. With each step, they honor the courage, sacrifices and families of these heroes, ensuring their legacies live on for years to come.”

As the nation marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, Fit Fusion and its Crunch Fitness clubs are proud to bring communities together through remembrance, movement and support for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
