CUL DE SAC, is a NYC nonprofit building toward the city’s first outdoor community sauna with a cultural footprint, bringing together wellness, culture, community, and the spirit of nightlife. At the core of everything they do is the belief that wellness should be a right not a luxury.
Over the past year, they have been testing and refining the concept through a series of popups transforming NYC’s parks and plazas into open-air bathhouses.
After a summer of sold-out sessions, free community programming, and a fully booked partnership with Sustain-Release music festival, CUL DE SAC will be returning to La Plaza Cultural Community Garden in the East Village for three weeks starting on September 29. All-day sessions on weekends and select evenings, special community and cultural programming, and local food and beverage will be offered.
The organization is also launching a crowdfunding campaign on September 29 to help fund a longer-term winter residency (more details coming soon) and continue building toward its vision of making communal bathing and wellness more accessible to New Yorkers.
