Doubles Social, the first-ever members community and app designed to help couples meet, connect, and go on double dates, officially launched on the App Store. The app addresses the friendship recession and loneliness epidemic by creating a vetted community for couples, so they can expand their social circles and build meaningful connections, while enhancing their own relationships.
The launch of Doubles Social is timely, as 30% of millennials reported feeling lonely always or often, and the percentage of adults with 10 or more close friends has significantly declined from 33% in 1990 to just 13% today. Plus, society has seen a surge in groups such as childfree millennials, sober-curious individuals and racquet sport enthusiasts, who are actively seeking community.
While other friendship apps and clubs exist, they are typically targeted toward single people, women only, or a broad audience. Meanwhile, the double dating apps/features on the market are romantically oriented, designed for single people to go on dates with a wingperson. Doubles Social is differentiated due to its focus on couple friendships, platonic double dates, and improving a couple’s own relationship.

Doubles Social is an elevated, unprecedented space for couples to meet other like-minded couples with similar interests, hobbies, and life stages. Its innovative Double Date Request invitation feature and Schedule of double dates and events overcomes planning barriers many couples face in their 30s and beyond – in just a few taps. Platonic double dating enables couples to truly bond in a two-on-two setting.
“I created Doubles Social because I experienced firsthand how my friendships and social life shifted as I hit my 30s. Many of my friends were getting married, starting families, and moving to different cities, making it harder for my husband and I to spend quality time with them,” said Jourdann Lubliner, Founder & CEO of Doubles Social. “As an avid tennis player, skier, concertgoer, and restaurant lover, I missed the fun and spontaneity of social plans in my 20s. I also realized the value in befriending other couples together with my partner. Couples interested in joining Doubles Social must first apply by downloading the app, creating an account and answering a few questions. The application process includes a manual review to ensure the integrity of the community. If accepted, the couple completes a joint profile and begins browsing a selection of couples curated for them based on commonalities and preferences.
Upon receiving a match, either couple can initiate a group chat or coordinate a double date by using the Double Date Request feature. The app is currently available in the U.S., with events rolling out first in NYC before expanding to other major cities. The cost for a premier membership is $16 monthly per couple; discounts are available for longer subscriptions. Doubles Social is an accessible alternative to expensive private members clubs.
Sculler added, “My patients often discuss how difficult it is to maintain friendships in their late 20s and 30s. They often expect to feel the same about their friendships during this very transitional time, when in reality they’ve evolved as people.
