Engyne Health, the AI-powered multi-sport coaching and loyalty platform, today announced the completion of an investment round at a multi-million-pound valuation, closing in a matter of weeks.
The speed of the round reflects the strength of Engyne Health’s proposition: a genuinely unique offering shaped by the track record of its founders, Yanto Critchlow-Barker and David Birch, giving the business a solid foundation to build on following its App Store launch in June.
The round was completed by a small group of angel investors with extensive experience in the sports and tech sector, including PureGym Chairman Humphrey Cobbold. Yanto’s background as an elite cyclist and founder of the international apparel brand Le Col, combined with David’s experience building EZ Loyalty into a leading global loyalty and rewards platform, gave investors confidence that Engyne Health’s leadership understands exactly how to drive behaviour change and reward the consistency that leads to real results. Together, they bring commercial expertise and industry relationships that are significant assets as Engyne enters its growth phase, and are committed to delivering the best possible insight and coaching to athletes of every level.
Elite-level coaching, made accessible
Engyne gives cyclists, runners, swimmers and rowers personalised, AI-driven coaching built on decades of elite performance expertise. The platform integrates with Strava, Zwift, Garmin and Wahoo, turning training data into clear structure and actionable insight. It also features proprietary performance metrics, SPEC (System Power and Environmental Coefficient) and ECE (Energy Conversion Efficiency), which bring race-intelligence tools previously associated with the professional peloton to everyday athletes thanks to Yanto’s previous career.
Built on an understanding of behaviour and reward
Couple the coaching with David’s experience founding and scaling EZ Loyalty, and you get a rare advantage: a genuine understanding of what keeps people motivated. Good loyalty and rewards programmes don’t just recognise the big wins, they recognise the everyday consistency that gets people there, and that thinking runs through everything Engyne does. By rewarding athletes for training smart, showing up and sticking with their goals, not just for hitting a personal best, Engyne is designed to keep people engaged for the long term.
In practice, that means Engyne recognises athletes for committing to their training plan and following it through, not just for the days they set a new record. Completing a prescribed session, sticking with a training block, hitting a weekly volume or consistency target, and building a run of consecutive weeks on plan are all treated as achievements in their own right, alongside milestones such as a first 10k, a new distance or a completed block of structured training. Reward the behaviour you want to see, not only the outcome, and people keep coming back. Applied to sport, that means athletes are backed for showing up and doing the work, week in, week out, with the milestones that matter along the way recognised just as visibly as the personal bests.
Growing with the sporting community
With the new investment in place, Engyne will accelerate its go-to-market strategy through partnerships with clubs, teams and events. By working directly with the communities where athletes train, race and set their goals, Engyne is set to make a strong impact on the way people prepare for their ambitions, whether that is a first 10k, a club time trial or a national championship.
Yanto Critchlow-Barker, Co-Founder and CEO of Engyne, said:
“Throughout my racing career and in building businesses in sport, the objective has always been the same: to cut through the noise and give athletes simple structure, clarity and genuinely valuable insight. This investment gives us a strong base to do exactly that at scale. Our investors understand sport, and they understand what we’re building. We’re incredibly pleased to be able to bring this level of coaching and value to the people who need it.”
David Birch, Co-Founder of Engyne, said:
“Everything I’ve learned building EZ Loyalty comes down to one thing: understanding what makes people come back, and rewarding them for it. Engyne applies that same thinking to athletes, rewarding not just the big achievements, but the consistency that gets you there. Having investors with this depth of sports and fitness sector experience behind us is a huge endorsement, and we’re excited to be growing alongside clubs, teams and events across the country.”
