With women’s health attracting record levels of investment and innovation, founders are increasingly turning their attention to historically underserved areas of care, including pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting.
Yet one of pregnancy’s most common conditions remains comparatively overlooked. Up to 90% of women experience nausea and vomiting during pregnancy (NVP), but relatively few products have been developed specifically with their needs in mind, leaving many women with limited options designed around the realities of their everyday experience.
Founded by Laura Milward and Laura Moore, Replenish is a liquid electrolyte and vitamin solution developed to support women experiencing pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting. Designed in collaboration with healthcare professionals and informed by lived experience, Replenish contains essential electrolytes, B vitamins including methylfolate, vitamin C and a small amount of glucose in an easy-to-take 30ml sachet formulated with taste aversions and sensitive stomachs in mind.
The idea for Replenish was born after Milward experienced severe nausea and vomiting throughout her own pregnancy.
Laura Milward, Co-Founder of Replenish, said:
“When I was pregnant, I struggled to keep food, fluids and even prenatal vitamins down. There was very little designed specifically for women experiencing pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting. Replenish was created to help address that gap—not as a medicine, but as something designed around the realities women face every day.”
Although often referred to as “morning sickness,” nausea and vomiting during pregnancy can occur at any time of day and can range from mild nausea to Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG), a severe pregnancy condition that can result in dehydration, weight loss and repeated hospitalization.
To help improve awareness and education around pregnancy sickness, Replenish has partnered with Pregnancy Sickness Support (PSS), the UK’s only national charity dedicated solely to supporting women affected by nausea and vomiting during pregnancy and Hyperemesis Gravidarum. The company donates £1 from every box sold to help fund the charity’s work supporting families, improving education for healthcare professionals and advancing research into pregnancy sickness.
Replenish has also established an independent advisory board comprising clinicians, researchers and women with lived experience to help shape future product development and educational resources.
Laura Moore, Co-Founder of Replenish, said:
“Women’s health has seen incredible innovation in recent years, but pregnancy sickness remains an area where many women still feel unsupported. We wanted to create something that reflected the reality of what women experience, not just clinically, but practically.”
Manufactured in the United Kingdom, Replenish is available direct-to-consumer through the company’s website, serving customers in both the United Kingdom and the United States.
Milward believes the conversation around pregnancy sickness is beginning to change.
“Women deserve better than being told pregnancy sickness is simply something they have to get through. Greater awareness, better education and products designed specifically with women in mind all have an important role to play. We hope Replenish becomes part of that wider movement.”
