Jenny Patrickson has joined fibodo as an independent advisor to help shape and strengthen the ambition which has the potential to improve the health, confidence and wellbeing of more than one million people in communities across the UK annually, with that impact compounding as more people build sustainable careers in the sector.

Too many people qualify to become coaches, instructors and wellbeing professionals, but never receive the opportunity, support or practical infrastructure needed to turn their qualification into a viable career.

fibodo believes education should not end when someone qualifies. It should lead to real work, reliable income and a meaningful role in the community.

Patrickson will support fibodo as it works with education providers, training organisations and industry partners to create stronger pathways from learning to earning. She will also support fibodo’s forthcoming sector report, examining the gap between qualification, sustainable income and the wider community value created by coaches.

“Every qualified coach represents an opportunity far bigger than a job,” said Anthony Franklin, Founder and CEO of fibodo.

“They can help people get active, build confidence, create connection and live healthier lives. But too many capable people qualify and are then left to work out how to build a career alone.

“Our ambition is to work with education partners to help 10,000 coaches, trainers and instructors create lifelong careers,  improving the lives of more than one million people in communities across the UK every year. Jenny will help us bring education, opportunity and community impact closer together.”

Patrickson will help fibodo sharpen its education proposition, engage priority education partners and advise on its longer-term education, qualification and workforce strategy.

Jenny Patrickson said: “There is a significant opportunity to strengthen the connection between education, employment, enterprise and community wellbeing.

“No one should complete a qualification only to face uncertainty about their next step into work.  I am delighted to be joining fibodo as an advisor at such an exciting time, as it builds stronger partnerships that help learners turn their skills into sustainable careers whilst creating meaningful impact and lasting benefits for local communities.”
