Fitgig Launches European Marketplace Connecting Fitness Studios and Instructors

Fitgig, a European talent marketplace built specifically for the fitness industry, has launched to help fitness instructors find work and studios build stronger teams across Europe.

The platform brings instructor profiles, studio discovery, fitness job listings, direct messaging, and hiring tools into one network. Instructors can create profiles showing their disciplines, experience, qualifications, availability, languages, and preferred locations. Studios can publish opportunities, discover relevant talent, and contact instructors directly.

Fitgig was founded by Caroline Welde after she saw a persistent gap between the growth of boutique fitness and the fragmented way studios and instructors find one another. While general job boards are designed around conventional employment, fitness work frequently includes class cover, recurring weekly slots, freelance teaching, short-term contracts, guest sessions, workshops, and open applications.

“Fitness studios depend on great instructors, but the infrastructure around finding and hiring that talent has remained surprisingly fragmented,” said Caroline Welde, founder of Fitgig. “Studios still rely heavily on Instagram posts, private messages, spreadsheets, and word of mouth. At the same time, talented instructors may not know which studios are hiring or how to make their availability visible. Fitgig gives both sides a dedicated place to connect.”

The launch comes as Europe’s health and fitness market continues to expand. EuropeActive reported that the market reached 75.5 million members and €39.1 billion in revenue in 2025. As studios serve more members and add specialist formats, staffing needs are becoming more varied. Operators increasingly need instructors across disciplines including Pilates, yoga, strength and conditioning, indoor cycling, functional fitness, personal training, padel, dance, breathwork, recovery, and sauna experiences.

Fitgig is designed around those working patterns. Instructors can use one profile to communicate their professional identity across multiple studios and cities. Studios can search for talent by discipline and location, maintain visibility between hiring cycles, and use direct conversations to discuss availability and fit.

The Copenhagen-founded platform is building a cross-border network spanning markets including Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, France, and other European fitness hubs. Fitgig combines opportunities posted directly by studios with discovery tools that make the wider fitness employment market easier to navigate.

The platform also gives independent instructors a professional presence outside social media. Profiles can present work history, certifications, availability, languages, specialisms, and openness to work, helping studios assess potential fit before beginning a conversation.

For studios, Fitgig is intended to support more than permanent recruitment. Operators can use the platform when they need substitute teachers, holiday cover, recurring instructors, specialists for a new class format, guest teachers, workshop leaders, or candidates for future openings.
