More than 220 people came together at Campus El Segundo Athletic Fields in late July for Fitstop’s largest U.S. community workout to date, transforming a morning of strength and conditioning into an event complete with live music, recovery experiences, giveaways and partner activations.
While Summer Sweat delivered the energy of a festival, the workout remained at the center. The free community event was built around the same coach-led, structured training that Fitstop offers in its studios every day, demonstrating the brand’s belief that the best fitness experiences don’t compromise the quality of the workout. That’s the whole game plan for Fitstop – create experiences that bring people together without losing sight of what matters most: evidence-based programming, expert coaching and a welcoming community.
“Summer Sweat blew us away,” said Pete Hull, Founder and CEO of Fitstop. “More than 220 people showed up and put in the work. That’s what Fitstop is all about – inspiring people to push their limits and do a little more every single day. The workout is what brought everyone together, and the community is what will keep them coming back.”
Built Around the Workout, Not Added on Top of It
Summer Sweat was organized to showcase the workout, then the rest of the morning’s activities unfolded around it.
The event drew the wider LA fitness community together in one place, including members, coaches and staff from Fitstop’s Southern California studios, plus the team from Fitstop Memorial, the brand’s upcoming Houston-area studio set to open later this year. For longtime members, it was a chance to train alongside people from studios across the region. And for first timers, it was a low-stakes introduction to Fitstop as membership wasn’t required to participate.
“So many events like this come with pressure to join or buy something,” said Hull. “We wanted Summer Sweat to be different – a real workout, no membership, no pressure. Just people who wanted to show up, train and feel like they were a part of this awesome community.”
Following the workout, attendees enjoyed the Recovery Zone powered by Restore, Hyperice and Westside Sweat Club, while Red Bull, Legendary Foods, Ready Fit Go and Red Salt kept everyone fueled throughout the morning. Under Armour, NOCCO, Barebells, LSKD and additional brands rounded out the morning with giveaways.
Part of a Bigger Growth Push
Summer Sweat is part of a bigger moment for Fitstop. The brand recently signed its largest U.S. deal to date – four new studios marking its first entry into Texas and the South, anchored by the Fitstop Memorial studio in Houston. Events like Summer Sweat demonstrate how Fitstop builds community and brings the brand to life beyond the studio, while showcasing the strength of the network behind it as the brand continues to grow throughout the U.S.
