Hexis, the performance nutrition platform built on the science of carbohydrate periodisation, has closed a €1.85M seed round led by returning investor APEX Capital, with participation from Enterprise Ireland and ScaleX. The investment will accelerate the continued development of Hexis’s elite sport offering and fund a significant expansion into the direct-to-consumer market later this year.
APEX Capital, an athlete-backed venture capital firm, first backed Hexis at pre-seed stage in 2024. Its decision to lead this seed round reflects continued conviction in both the platform’s scientific foundations and its commercial trajectory across professional sport.
Since that initial investment, Hexis has continued to grow its international market reach in the UK, Europe, United States and Australia spanning various football codes, cycling and endurance sport. The platform’s integration ecosystem has expanded to include Garmin, WHOOP, and Apple Health, as well as Catapult and STATSports, enabling real-time fuel plan adaptation driven by athletes’ own performance data. The business has grown headcount by 33% across the whole organisation.
