The Second Life: How AI, Health Tech, and Design are Reinventing Midlife for Women Over the Next Decade

The Future of Menopause 2035
London, UK / Oct 27, 2025 / Ultra Violet Agency

Ultra Violet Agency, the global foresight and innovation consultancy focused on women’s health and FemTech, today announces the release of The Future of Menopause 2035 – the first futures report dedicated to the menopause economy.

Part of the agency’s FemTech Futures 2035 series, the report explores how next-generation technologies, workplace transformation, and design innovation are reshaping menopause into a data-driven, tech-enabled life stage, and a powerful new growth market.

By 2035, over 1.2 billion women will be in menopause globally, and the market for menopause-related products and services is expected to exceed $33 billion. This presents a major commercial opportunity for FemTech startups, digital health innovators, and consumer health brands building solutions that address midlife wellbeing, hormonal health, and longevity.

The report identifies how AI, biomonitoring, precision nutrition, and predictive health tools are driving a new wave of personalised menopause care; from “peri-prepping” apps that help women prepare for perimenopause in their 30s, to smart home environments with adaptive temperature, lighting, and cognitive-health integration.

It also highlights a shift in the cultural narrative: ageing and menopause are being redefined as aspirational and empowering life phases, not decline. As life expectancy increases, women will spend more years in menopause than in any other stage of life,  opening up new opportunities for health innovation, longevity tech, and workforce participation.

The Rise of the ‘Peri-Prepper’

The report introduces a new consumer persona; the Peri-Prepper. Digitally fluent and health-literate, these millennial women are already tracking hormones, nutrition, and biomarkers, preparing early for perimenopause through data, lifestyle adjustments, and preventative care.

This “proactive menopause mindset” signals the next evolution in personalised health, a consumer who expects predictive tools, adaptive therapies, and seamless integration between wellness apps, AI health coaches, and connected home environments.

HyperHumanHealth: Where Tech Meets Biology

At the frontier of the report is the rise of HyperHumanHealth; a new paradigm in which AI, digital twins, and bio-personalisation converge.

From ovarian rejuvenation therapies and cognitive health tracking to “menopause mode” smart homes, the next decade will be defined by hyper-personalised, predictive, and ethical health ecosystems.

AI health coaches will guide users through symptom management and lifestyle optimisation, while digital twins simulate potential interventions before real-world adoption.

This new era of human-centred tech places women at the core of innovation; not as an afterthought, but as the blueprint.

Risks and Realities

While the outlook is bold, Ultra Violet cautions that progress remains uneven. Most menopause research and AI health datasets still centre on Western experiences, risking the reinforcement of gender and racial health gaps. The report calls for inclusive datasets, global investment, and cross-cultural design frameworks to ensure a truly equitable menopause future.

A Milestone in Women’s Health Innovation

“This is the first time menopause has been examined through a futures lens,” said Anna Butterworth, Founder of Ultra Violet Agency. “We’re not just forecasting hot-flash tech, we’re mapping the social, cultural, and economic reinvention of midlife itself. The women entering menopause in 2035 will experience it as a major life upgrade, an opportunity to be seized, not suffered.”

With women projected to spend up to half their life in menopause, the intersection of health tech and hormonal health represents one of the most underexplored markets in digital health. The Future of Menopause 2035 provides the first comprehensive foresight map for innovators, investors, and technologists entering this next major growth sector.

The report, out today, is available from the Ultra Violet website for free and has been made possible by the support of Perrigo Company, a leading provider of Consumer Self-Care Products and over-the-counter (OTC) health and wellness solutions.
