Lettuce Grow Announces New Product and Retail Distribution with Costco Wholesale

New Counterstand and Ready-To-Buy Seedlings Enter the Mainstream with Costco Wholesale

Los Angeles, CA / Jan 28, 2025 / Lettuce Grow

Today, Lettuce Grow announced the launch of The Counterstand and the expansion of their historically direct-to-consumer live seedlings to be sold in-store at select Costco Wholesale locations. Since launching in 2019, Lettuce Grow has been at the forefront of reshaping the $62B U.S. produce industry to bring living, full flavor, nutrient-rich produce to consumers. The company has inspired hundreds of thousands of people to grow their own food, empowering a healthier diet and lifestyle by creating an engaging user experience that the whole family can take part and pride in.

Lettuce Grow is expanding its footprint to the grocery aisle, delivering a new way for consumers to access fresh, high-quality, and affordable leafy greens and herbs where they shop. In response to the growing demand for sustainable produce, Lettuce Grow will now offer living plants that customers can finish growing at home, ensuring peak freshness and flavor. For the first time, these living greens will be available for purchase in-store, allowing shoppers to enjoy truly farm-to-table produce. This latest expansion complements Lettuce Grow’s existing at-home offerings and introduces the new Counterstand—a sleek, design-forward countertop vase with optional Grow Lamp. This modular solution provides always-on access to fresh, living greens and herbs and reduces waste by empowering consumers to harvest fresh produce only as they need it. With its innovative, zero-plastic packaging and competitive pricing, Lettuce Grow continues to redefine how consumers access fresh, living produce—both at home and now, in store.

Americans ranked fresh vegetables as the #1 grocery item they want to consume more of this year, but with supply chain and distribution challenges, much of the produce arriving at grocers is depleted of nutrition and flavor—well before consumers even purchase, store or enjoy it. By joining forces with Costco Wholesale as their inaugural retail partner, Lettuce Grow is entering the mainstream and expanding their impact by aligning with Costco’s mission to provide members with the highest quality goods at the lowest possible prices.

The initial range of in-store seedlings will include fan favorites like: butter lettuce, romaine, parsley, basil, green onion, garlic chives, spinach, kale and others. In addition to ready-to-buy seedlings and the new Counterstand, Costco members will also be able to purchase the Farmstand Nook in store.

“We’re driven by our mission to make fresh, delicious, and nutritious produce accessible to everyone. This launch is a major step toward furthering that vision by expanding Lettuce Grow’s presence to where most people buy their produce —the grocery store. By partnering with Costco Wholesale, one of the largest retailers of organic produce in the country, we’re further bridging the gap between farm and table, while addressing increasing consumer demand for higher-quality ingredients. This milestone marks an exciting inflection point in our evolution while meeting today’s conscious shoppers right where they are.” says Jacob Pechenik, CEO & Co-Founder of Lettuce Grow.
