Mizuno Launches Their First Super Trail Shoe – The Neo Accera

Mizuno Neo Accera
London, UK / Apr 3, 2026 / Mizuno

The Mizuno Neo Accera shoe symbolises a new era of Mizuno trail running. The Mizuno Neo Accera is designed to support the trail runner’s high performance training and racing goals, using innovative, technical materials that deal with the demands of varied terrain, pace and distance. The material and structural innovations have been anchored by one clear goal; to last the tribulations of 100-mile racing.

Material and structural innovation – The nitrogen-infused midsole innovation seen across the Mizuno road running silos, extends to the Mizuno Neo Accera. Providing trail runners with a delicate balance of softness and response, the nitrogen-infused top midsole is designed to remain highly resilient to compression over extended trail running efforts. The midsole is supported by a premium Vibram Megagrip outsole, rock plate and wide bottom gauge, to handle the demands of technical trails.

Globally tested – Development of the first Mizuno super trail shoe began in 2024, beginning with testing and feedback from trail runners in Asia and Europe. The Mizuno France Trail team, featuring athletes across all trail distances, were particularly pivotal in providing athlete feedback that created the Mizuno Neo Accera.

Global performances – Matis Leray’s 4th place at the UTMB TDS (145km/9500m+), was a standout performance for Mizuno Trail and the Mizuno Neo Accera. Competing in just the single pair for the 20 hours of competition, Matis’ performance was an excellent ode to the performance of the super trail shoe.

About Mizuno

Founded in 1906 by Rihachi Mizuno in Osaka, Japan and inspired by a love of baseball, Mizuno was dedicated to producing the best sports equipment in the world to help athletes be the best they can be. This love of baseball expanded into a myriad of sports and with science paramount to success Mizuno created the world’s first Scientific R&D Laboratory in 1938. This truly established Mizuno as a world leader in sport and this obsessive passion is the very essence of the company today.

Mizuno’s company purpose is “To contribute to society through the advancement of sporting goods and the promotion of sport”, this is what gets us up everyday and drives us forward, enriching the lives of people through the power of sport. Coinciding with this purpose Mizuno recognised that all corporate activities affect the environment and way back in 1991 ‘Mizuno Crew21’ was launched as a global sustainability commitment to help protect the planet for future generations.

Almost 120 years after their foundation, Mizuno’s passion for creating product masterpieces has not wavered-and those masterpieces can be found on pitches, courts, diamonds and courses around the world. But it is their love affair with running that is their greatest motivation in 2025. Seeing the legendary “Runbird” logo on streets, trails and treadmills is inspiring Mizuno’s quest to craft the perfect range of running shoes.
