Vega Perry to spearhead NASM’s global strategy, enhancing career opportunities for fitness and wellness professionals worldwide.
National Academy of Sports Medicine® (NASM), a global leader in fitness and wellness training and certifications, is thrilled to announce Miriam Vega Perry as the new VP of International of NASM. With more than 20 years of experience driving business success in diverse global markets, Vega Perry brings a wealth of expertise to her new role.
Vega Perry’s distinguished career includes leadership roles at multi-national companies including Nestle, Caribe General Electric, and Apollo Global. Most recently, as VP of International at Ascend Learning, she successfully led the Jones & Bartlett Learning Group and Public Safety Group portfolios, implementing strategic go-to-market initiatives and establishing key international partnerships that resulted in double-digit growth for the international division.

In her new role, Vega Perry will oversee NASM’s global expansion strategy, focusing on strengthening operations in existing markets and identifying new opportunities for growth in new regions. Her appointment underscores NASM’s commitment to driving innovation and growth in the fitness and wellness industry on a global scale.

Vega Perry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Fluent in three languages and deeply immersed in international cultures, she is uniquely equipped to connect with global markets and consumers. Beyond her professional achievements, Vega Perry is passionate about mentoring young women, helping them reach their full potential, and spending quality time with her three daughters and three grandchildren.
