Padel Up, the multi-location Los Angeles padel club, is teaming up with Playbypoint, the leading global club management platform for racquet sports, and premium equipment brand SIUX to produce a month-long padel activation in the California desert around the Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals. From April 9 through April 26, two purpose-built padel courts will stand just steps from the festival grounds in Indio, offering curated programming, bookable court time, and competitive events that will introduce padel to an entirely new audience.
For many, Southern California’s spring music festivals are the largest cultural moments of the year. Attracting more than 250,000 attendees per weekend, this is the Super Bowl moment for culture, entertainment, and now… padel. The Padel Up Indio activation, powered by Playbypoint, represents the sport’s boldest expansion into mainstream culture: a bridge between the passionate padel community that already exists and the massive, trend-forward audience that hasn’t picked up a racquet yet.
“Padel has a way of hooking people the second they step on the court, and there are millions who just haven’t had that experience yet,” said Andre Brown, CEO and Co-Founder of Padel Up. “Bringing padel to the desert during one of the biggest cultural moments of the year is exactly the kind of bold move this sport needs. We want people to walk off the festival grounds, pick up a racquet for the first time, and understand why the rest of the world is already obsessed.”
Anchored by Two Landmark Events
A first-of-its-kind mixed pro-am tournament will headline the activation’s opening weekend on April 11–12, pairing amateur female players, many of them newcomers to the sport, with elite professionals. The format is intentionally designed to lower the barrier to entry for women by creating structured pathways into competitive play through direct mentorship from top-ranked players. It is a statement about what padel can be: inclusive, social, and accessible at every level.
On April 23–24, the activation culminates with the inaugural Clash of the Clubs, a championship-style competition inviting padel clubs from across the United States to compete on the court and build community. The weekend will be capped by a special party hosted by LVBL.
Putting Women’s Growth at the Center
A core commitment of the activation is advancing women’s participation in padel. The mixed-gender pro-am format pairs female newcomers with elite players, creating an on-ramp to competitive play that simply hasn’t existed before. Beyond the tournament itself, the programming includes skill development sessions led by women champions and mentorship from the sport’s top female professionals. The goal is not just a single weekend of competition. It’s building lasting pathways for women’s growth in the sport.
Powered by Playbypoint
Playbypoint, the leading club management platform for racquet sports, is powering the entire activation: bookings, scheduling, player ratings, and on-site operations all run through its infrastructure. The activation will also serve as the launch moment for Game Match, Playbypoint’s player-matching feature that turns any club into a social hub. Game Match makes it easy for anyone to find a game, join a group, or rally new players on their own. A festival attendee who falls in love with padel can open the app, jump into an open match, and instantly become part of the community. It’s the connective tissue between a first-time hit in the desert and a lifelong relationship with the sport.
“This activation isn’t just about putting padel courts next to a music festival,” said Jo Vos, CMO at Playbypoint. “It’s about proving that padel belongs in the mainstream cultural conversation. Game Match is central to that vision. We want anyone who picks up a racquet in the desert to be able to find a game, connect with other players, and keep playing at their local clubs on Playbypoint when they get home.”
Making Padel for Everyone
Padel is the fastest-growing racquet sport in the world, but its reach in the United States is still in its early chapters. The Padel Up Indio activation is built on the belief that the next wave of growth won’t come from within the existing community. It will come from exposing entirely new audiences to the sport in moments that already matter to them. By meeting a massive audience where they are, in one of the country’s most high-profile cultural settings, the activation creates a gateway that is social, competitive, and radically accessible.
From bookable court time for first-time players to elite-level competition, the programming spans the full spectrum. Ciroc’s signature Athletic Club lounge anchors the hospitality experience, while athlete lounges powered by AMP AI, SIUX, and Playbypoint offer recovery, technology, and equipment access. LVBL will bring their signature fast-paced formats to the courts throughout the month, and guests can expect surprise activations from Erewhon and Pause Studios. Additional partners, including Discovery Land Properties, Recover 180, HAESKN, and Prima, round out an experience that blends sport, wellness, and lifestyle.
