RacePace, the Vienna-based race-strategy platform for trail and ultra runners, and Minimis, the developer of Flow AR smart sports glasses, have announced a partnership to explore bringing personalized race guidance directly into runners’ field of view.

The shared vision is simple: a runner approaching a climb could see their planned effort, check their pacing target or receive a fueling reminder  in their field of view. By connecting race preparation with a display designed for use on the move, the companies aim to make a runner’s strategy easier to follow throughout a demanding event.

Trail and ultra runners make decisions for hours at a time, often while navigating technical terrain and managing fatigue. A detailed plan can help, but accessing that information through a phone during a race adds friction that may require them to stop. The collaboration aims to put relevant guidance where runners can see it when they need it.

RacePace turns a runner’s fitness, race course and expected conditions into a personalized, segment-by-segment strategy covering effort, heart rate, pace, nutrition and hydration. Plans appear on an interactive 3D course map and can be exported for use during a race.

Minimis Flow  sunglasses measure and display performance metrics and navigation within the wearer’s field of view. The partnership brings together RacePace’s approach to race planning and Minimis’ vision for accessing information while staying focused on the route ahead.

“A race plan is most useful when you can act on it,” said Ido Dassa, CEO and co-founder of RacePace. “During an ultra, fatigue makes even simple decisions harder. Our vision with Minimis is to put the next useful piece of guidance in front of the runner, whether that’s managing the next climb or remembering to fuel. It’s a natural step towards the outdoor co-pilot we’re building.”

“We’re making trail running safer and lighter by putting everything trail runners need into sunglasses,” said Joseph Guo, CEO and co-founder of Minimis. “RacePace brings a complementary layer: a strategy tailored to the runner and the course. Together, we will move beyond phone and watch based, often retrospective data, towards  helping runners understand what’s next while in action.”
