REP Launches the Strive™ Curved Treadmill: A Manual Runner and Sled With Over 500 lbs of Resistance

Strength meets cardio: The Strive™ Curved Treadmill is a motorless runner with eight levels of resistance—simulating up to 550 lbs. It’s the ultimate versatile training tool for sprints, low-impact runs, recovery walks, and heavy sled pushes.

Rep Fitness LLC (REP), the Colorado-based manufacturer renowned for its innovative, high-quality gym equipment, launched the Strive™ Curved Treadmill, a self-powered, motorless curved treadmill that transitions from a free runner to a resistance sled on-the-fly.

It’s the second release in REP’s new Strive™ cardio-conditioning line designed for the growing wave of runners and multi-sport athletes who train with cardio, alongside strength.

WHO IT’S BUILT FOR

  • Hybrid athletes. Training that alternates running with sled pushes and drags no longer needs separate pieces of equipment or a commercial-grade turf lane.
  • Runners. A self-powered curved belt with an adjustable grade replaces the hill repeats and tempo runs that disappear in cold and icy winters and wet springs.
  • Home gyms. One 82-inch machine replaces a treadmill and a sled lane, with no electrical hookup.
  • Commercial facilities. From athletic training facilities to boutique studios, this ultra-durable treadmill can handle high-volume use and deliver elite performance outcomes.
  • Affordability seeking. No subscriptions of any kind, unlike many high-end cardio machines, at a MSRP that out-delivers against its competitive class.

A CURVED TREADMILL WITH SLED INTEGRATION THAT’S EVOLVED FOR HOW PEOPLE TRAIN.

The curved treadmill earned its place by being honest. There is no motor to carry the athlete along and no belt speed to hide behind. That is why it became standard equipment for anyone serious about running mechanics, and why it has spread from performance labs into garages.

But the category has delivered the same machine for a decade: a fixed deck angle, a free belt, and one job. Meanwhile, the way we work out has changed.

Hybrid training has made the sled push as routine as the interval, and the athletes buying cardio equipment now train load and speed in the same 45 minutes. Most do not have room for a runner and a sled in their home gym.

The Strive™ Curved Treadmill is built for both jobs. Eight levels of magnetic flywheel resistance load the belt so it works seamlessly like a sled — light enough at the bottom of the range to simulate an uphill walk, and heavy enough at the top for intense strength efforts. Release the clutch and the flywheel disconnects entirely for a run mode that’s free of any unwanted sled resistance: a smooth, fast belt, without the dead weight that makes other resistance-capable treadmills feel heavy.

As a self-powered, motorless treadmill, it’s chord-free. Speeding up and slowing down is completely controlled by the user.

Choose from two deck angles: 0% and 3% grade – allowing for true customization in an equipment category that’s historically rigid. The incline, or the “go hard” setting, is ideal for speed work and HIIT; The flat angle, or “go long” mode, is designed for endurance running. It’s a small adjustment with a major impact on comfort and output.

CARDIO, BUILT TO THE STRENGTH STANDARD

The Strive™ Curved Treadmill follows the June 2026 launch of the Strive™ Air Bike featuring VPR™, REP’s first cardio product.

Together, the two machines mark an exciting expansion for a company that grew out of a two-car garage with award-winning racks, benches and barbells — and a bet that the athletes who trust REP with all their strength needs will want the same engineering standard applied to conditioning.

“Since starting REP fourteen years ago, I’ve seen workouts of every kind – and none is as widespread and as beloved as cardio,” said Ryan McGrotty, co-founder and Co-CEO of REP. “Almost nobody has room for a runner and a sled in their home, and outdoor training disappears the day the weather turns. So we built one machine that does both jobs properly, engineered to the same standard that has built REP into a global equipment leader and inspired the trust of millions.”

ENGINEERED FOR THE HARDEST SESSIONS IN THE GYM

Beyond the resistance system, the Strive™ Curved Treadmill is engineered to REP’s class-leading durability and quality standards.

A 418-pound machine on a satin metallic black powdercoat frame supports users up to 400 pounds. The running surface is glass-filled nylon with an antistatic overmold across a 17.6-inch slat belt, which provides exceptional traction.

Ergonomic, 32mm handles offer low and shoulder hand positions for both running and pushing. The 5″ × 8″ backlit console tracks distance, speed, time, power and calories, with Bluetooth and ANT+ connectivity for heart rate monitors and FTMS-compatible third-party apps, while a second console sits at foot level for sled work. A phone holder, water bottle holder and power adapter are included and, because the machine needs no electricity to run, it can be wheeled outside on a clear day.

“Every curved treadmill on the market asks you to accept a compromise,” said Joe Travers, Chief Product Officer at REP. “The ones that can hold resistance feel heavy even when the resistance is off, and the ones that run beautifully can’t do sled work. We solved that with a clutch that fully disconnects the flywheel, so Free Run mode is truly free, and with a magnetic resistance system that delivers more sled-resistance range than anything else in the category.

“We made the deck angle adjustable because the geometry that’s right for a 12-second sprint isn’t the geometry that’s right for a 20-minute push. It stops being a treadmill the moment you need it to be a sled.”
