Fitness Clubs Nationwide Rally Members and Communities to Give Back in Honor of First Responders, Veterans and Families of the Fallen

West Palm Beach, FL / Sep 4, 2025 / Retro Fitness

Retro Fitness, a leader in the high-value, low-price fitness sector, is proudly partnering with the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T) to honor the bravery and sacrifice of 9/11 first responders, service members and civilians. From September 1–15, Retro Fitness members and guests will be able to make point-of-sale donations at the Smoothie Bar and Pro Shop to support T2T’s mission. Every dollar  raised will go towards helping provide mortgage-free homes through T2T’s Gold Star Family Home Program and Fallen First Responder Home Program, which work to help surviving spouses of fallen first responders and their young children.

“Our clubs have always been about more than just fitness; they are about bringing communities together,” said Andrew Alfano, CEO of Retro Fitness. “Through our partnership with Tunnel to Towers, we’re uniting our members and neighbors nationwide to honor the heroes of 9/11 and to stand alongside first responders, veterans and their families.”

In addition to the giveback opportunities at Retro Fitness clubs nationwide, select Retro Fitness locations will host 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Challenges as part of the tribute efforts. Club members and guests are invited to complete a 110-flight climb (equal to 2,071 steps), symbolizing the World Trade Center towers. Those who finish the climb can earn 250 reward points in their Retro Fitness app or receive commemorative merchandise at select locations. Members and guests can also join in tribute classes, moments of silence and other community events at participating locations.

“These tributes remind us that fitness is about more than physical strength. It’s also about resilience and unity,” added Alfano. “By opening our gyms to the community for this meaningful giveback effort, climbing together and standing together, we honor the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice and their families. We’re inspiring our communities to live with purpose.”
