REVL Training, the performance-based strength and conditioning franchise that launched out of Australia in the depths of the 2020 lockdowns and has since scaled to 50+ studios across six countries, is officially entering the United States.
Built on a founding conviction that the global fitness industry had settled for too little – too much volume, not enough structure – REVL was designed from the ground up as the world’s most structured performance training model. Six years on, with studios operating across Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Vietnam and Taiwan, and a global membership base exceeding 12,000, the brand is now bringing its model to the world’s most competitive fitness market after proven success across Australia and as APAC’s fastest growing fitness franchise.
The US launch marks a defining moment in REVL’s five-year growth roadmap, which targets 100+ open studios across 10 countries and a membership base of 20,000+ by 2028. Florida is the brand’s first priority market for initial US expansion, with national franchise opportunities also open to prospective partners.
Josh Mildren, Co-founder of REVL Training, said: “Everyone thought we were crazy when we launched in June 2020; but what’s driven every decision since is an uncompromising belief in the product – the programming, the culture, and the standard. That belief is what’s taken us from four studios in Australia to 50+ across six countries. The gap in this market for what we do is real, and we intend to own it.”
A Model Built Differently
REVL’s approach to functional fitness is rooted in sports science and deliberately more structured than the group fitness formats that have dominated boutique studio growth in recent years. Members train across periodised 13-week blocks with defined sets, reps and %’s of 1RM/3RM – progressive overload built into every cycle, within a community studio format that drives results most boutique brands cannot sustain.
The numbers reflect it. Across REVL’s global network, member attrition sits below 5%. Average studio membership exceeds 200 globally, with top-performing Australian locations surpassing 350.
The brand is no off-the-shelf fitness franchise. What differentiates REVL at every level – from the studio aesthetic and training model to the in-house events ecosystem – is a commitment to building something that members and operators have never seen before:
- The Product: Structured strength and conditioning programming that delivers measurable, uncapped performance progression.
- The Brand: A creative and cultural identity that doesn’t look or feel like any other fitness franchise – four black walls, unique creative direction and a community unlike the others.
- The Events Ecosystem: A proprietary competitive events architecture spanning Studio Games, REVL Pace, REVL Underground and Race The Globe – REVL’s annual flagship race event, which drew 1,000 athletes in Singapore earlier in the year, and intends to draw 700+ athletes in Brisbane in October 2026. No other fitness franchise in the world is building this.
- The Franchise Support: Area Developer agreements, programming systems, marketing infrastructure and a franchisor team invested in studio profitability – not just territory sales.
Ben Woolford, REVL Co-founder added: “We see REVL not just as a franchise but as a platform for ambitious operators. Whether you’re launching your first studio or converting an existing brand, our goal is to give you the tools, data and community to build a long-term, profitable business in a sector that is still highly fragmented. We’ve never been more certain that the right time to bring this into the US is now.”
The Franchise Opportunity
REVL is actively seeking franchise partners in the United States – specifically experienced operators, fitness entrepreneurs and multi-unit investors who recognise the scale of the opportunity in a market where structured, performance-led training and sustained profitability remains underserved.

About the Founders
Josh Mildren
Co-founder
Josh Mildren co-founded REVL Training in June 2020 with the conviction that, beyond the fitness industry’s dominant models, there was a gap in the market for a product like REVL. With a background in strength and conditioning, Josh built REVL’s foundational brand and operational strategy – before scaling the business alongside Ben from four Australian locations to a 50+ studio global franchise. He leads REVL’s overall business strategy and is the primary voice on brand, marketing and studio operations; and a finalist in the Top 30 Franchise Executives.
Ben Woolford
Co-founder
Ben Woolford co-founded REVL Training alongside Josh Mildren and is now leading the brand’s expansion into North America. His focus has always been the substance behind REVL – having built the periodised, progressive training methodology that underpins every studio, and shaping the physical product of the gyms themselves, from equipment to bespoke studio design. He also oversees REVL’s franchise growth, operator development and international market entry, with a franchise model that prioritises long-term studio profitability and operator success – a philosophy that has driven the franchise’s expansion into Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Vietnam and Taiwan, and now the United States. He is a regular speaker on the global fitness franchise circuit and a finalist in the Top 30 Franchise Executives.
