The global expansion of RUN X, the first World Treadmill Running Championship developed through the strategic partnership between Technogym and World Athletics, takes another important step forward with the launch of the official RUN X Club Finder.

Available now on www.runx.org, the Club Finder enables runners to easily identify participating clubs around the world, while offering fitness operators a unique opportunity to increase visibility, engage local running communities and attract new members. As of today, one month ahead of the kickoff, 300 facilities worldwide have registered to be part of RUN X and many more will be coming.

Clubs can register their facility and join a growing international network at the heart of a new indoor running discipline.

  • By joining RUN X and appearing on the Club Finder, facilities can:
  • Increase their visibility among local runners and endurance athletes.
  • Attract new prospects through official qualifying events.
  • Strengthen member engagement and retention through a global competition.
  • Connect with local running communities and clubs.
  • Position themselves within an international network supported by Technogym and World Athletics.

RUN X is not simply a competition, but the emergence of a brand-new indoor sports discipline poised to redefine the relationship between runners and fitness clubs.

Inclusivity at the Core: Why 5,000 Meters?

The selection of this distance is deliberate, answering a clear vision of accessibility and broad participation:

  • Zero Barrier to Entry: While running a marathon demands months of specialized training, the 5 km distance is truly democratic. It is equally accessible to beginners taking their first strides and to elite athletes seeking to test their pure speed.
  • The Power of Real-Time Motivation: Powered by seamless integration with the Technogym Digital Ecosystem, participants race on connected treadmills while tracking a live global leaderboard. Racing ceases to be a solitary effort: seeing one’s name rise on both the club’s board and the worldwide rankings sparks an unprecedented sense of challenge and motivation.

The Rise of Hybrid Training

RUN X aligns naturally with one of the most dynamic fitness movements of recent years: hybrid training. An increasing number of athletes are breaking past the historical divide between “strength athletes” and “endurance athletes.” This dynamic and rapidly growing community pairs heavy strength workouts with high-intensity running sessions to optimize athletic performance, burn calories, and prevent injuries.

These hybrid athletes are driven by an intense spirit of challenge and competition. Consequently, RUN X integrates seamlessly into the athletic landscape tailored directly to the demands of hybrid athletes.

An Extraordinary Strategic Opportunity for Fitness Clubs

For affiliated clubs, RUN X represents far more than an event on the calendar—it serves as a high-impact lever for local marketing, community outreach, and member retention:

  • Engagement with Local Running Clubs: fitness facilities gain a unique opportunity to connect with local running groups, offering an exciting, high-performance indoor alternative during winter months or for focused quality workouts (such as interval training and speed tests).
  • Foot Traffic and Member Acquisition: Hosting official qualifying stages attracts a fresh, targeted, high-spending, and passionate audience eager to experience the club’s broader ecosystem.

With the specific objective of guiding and supporting clubs to capitalize on this extraordinary opportunity, Technogym hosted the inaugural RUN X Summit from September 24 to 26 at the Technogym Village in Cesena, welcoming representatives from more than 300 participating clubs. The three-day event provided an exclusive forum connecting partner clubs with international master trainers and top industry leaders. Through an alternating series of theoretical workshops and practical sessions, clubs were equipped with the strategic, commercial, and technical tools required to maximize the local impact of the RUN X format.

The Road to Technogym Village: Schedule & Prize Purse

The RUN X competitive pathway will unfold across the globe through an exciting progression:

  • October 2026: Official launch of qualifying stages across affiliated fitness clubs worldwide.
  • January 2027: Continental finals to determine the top contenders in the discipline.
  • March 2027: The World Championship Final live at the Technogym Village in Cesena, where qualifiers will compete in person for a stellar prize purse of $100,000.

RUN X is not just a race. It is the defining bridge between outdoor and indoor performance, between strength and speed, and between the individual runner and a connected global community.

The challenge is officially on – Register your club: www.runx.org.
