Running Mate, the first runshare app designed to make running safer for women, has officially launched a crowdfunding campaign through Honeycomb Credit. The campaign gives anyone the opportunity to invest—at any amount—and become part of a movement reshaping safety and community in the running world.
Founded by Dena Lewis after surviving two assaults while running alone, Running Mate provides verified, background-checked “mates” that women can book to run with for safety, support, or accountability. The app bridges technology and human connection to ensure every woman feels safe to run—anytime, anywhere.
“This mission started from fear, but it’s grown into something powerful—a community determined to end violence against women,” says Dena Lewis
Funds raised through this campaign will help Running Mate expand into new cities, grow its verified runner network, and enhance app features to further improve safety, accessibility, and community engagement.
