3-Day Festival Brings Running, Saunas, Yoga, Speakers, Live Music and More To Georgia
Runningman, an immersive health and wellness festival is coming back to Kingston Downs in Rome, Georgia, September 13-15. This one-of-a-kind event brings together leaders and top brands in fitness and wellness for a 3-day experience with activities ranging from a race with multiple running distances, yoga, breathwork, saunas and cold plunges, inspirational speakers, panel discussions, and breakout sessions.
Co-founded by Jesse Itzler, Devon Levesque, and Olympian Chris Hauth Runningman looks to build on the success of 2023’s inaugural festival that brought together over 1,000 participants to learn something new, meet someone new and try something new.
“Runningman is in a league of its own. No other running or wellness event offers a festival-type experience like this,” said co-founder Jesse Itzler. “We built the world’s largest sauna. We partnered with brands to set up experiences that you can’t find anywhere else. We have incredible speakers to learn from, and our unique race format allows people to choose any race distance to walk or run.”
The unique race format at Runningman is set across eight hours on a one-mile grass loop, where runners of all abilities can choose any distance from 5k to 50k. Runners stay out as long as they’d like and can periodically take breaks to participate in activations brand partners are hosting or take in educational programming. Last year, over 85% of Runningman attendees surpassed their initial set distance goal.
The continuous loop format allows participants to create connections. Unlike traditional races that have a linear start and finish, the Runningman format allows for continuous interactions with friends and strangers throughout the entire race no matter the pace.
The infield of the track features an experiential expo with a wide range of unique activations, all culminating in the world’s first race that’s more about the memories you make than your time or distance—with the goal of making running more fun and accessible to everyone.
“There is so much going on at Runningman,” added co-founder Devon Levesque. “Plus, the ability to interact is unmatched. You get to run or walk alongside people that you only hear on podcasts or see on social media. You’re never far from some of the best minds in wellness or the best runners in the world.”
Runningman is also “home to the world’s largest sauna.” The 4,500-square-foot sauna boasts 25 wood-burning stoves and is equipped with a DJ booth, couches, and lounge chairs. The sauna is surrounded by a variety of cold plunges and recovery stations where participants can relax, recover, and hear from incredible lectures and panel discussions.
