Seed × Open Unveil the First-Ever Meditation Powered by the Human Microbiome

The track, which translates real microbial data into an immersive sound bath, debuts as part of new ‘Second Brain’ mindfulness series

Los Angeles, CA / Nov 18, 2025 / Seed

Seed, a microbiome science company, today unveiled the world’s first meditation powered by the human microbiome, created in partnership with mindfulness platform Open. The track—composed from real microbial activity translated into sound—offers a grounding, science-backed moment of recalibration ahead of the holiday stretch.

To create the track, Seed’s science team captured microbial activity from the human gut and translated it into binary data, which Open’s sound engineers converted into MIDI tones and arranged into a meditative soundscape. The result is a first-of-its-kind microbial sound bath that translates the invisible world of the microbiome into an immersive, sensory experience––allowing listeners to truly tune in to their biology.

The meditation anchors Second Brain, a new seven-part Seed × Open mindfulness series that brings the science of the gut–brain connection into daily practice.

For nearly a decade, Seed has been translating complex microbiome science into forms that are both accessible and experientially meaningful. This collaboration with Open builds on that work, transforming invisible biology into a sensory experience that makes the science both tangible and unexpectedly moving.
