The Commons, one of Australia’s leading coworking space providers, is redefining the intersection of work and wellness with the launch of The Commons Health Club – a coworking space and health club integrated into one and soon to be the largest social wellness club in Melbourne’s inner city.

This September, The Commons will unveil its first ever health club in Richmond, Melbourne, followed by a second Health Club in South Yarra in January, marking a bold expansion into holistic wellbeing for its thriving community.

Both health clubs have been architecturally designed with a clear intention: to bring fitness, recovery, and community together in one premium destination.

Spanning over 5,000sqm across both the health club and workspace, each facility features an expansive gym floor with state-of-the-art, design-led equipment, purpose built studios offering over 20 class styles, more than 200 classes per week, a members lounge, workspace, and a street fronted café.

Core offerings include reformer pilates, hot mat pilates, yoga, spin, strength and functional fitness, alongside distinctive experiences such as candlelit yin, yamuna body rolling, sound healing, breathwork, meditation, dance, aerobics, step and rebounding.

With a strong focus on science, The Commons will integrate cutting edge assessments and signature personal training sessions to optimise your health and performance. The Commons will also integrate advanced longevity treatments including red light therapy, lymphatic compression, and infrared saunas to support recovery and overall wellbeing.

The Commons bathhouse features 37°C and 39°C magnesium infused baths, a 8°C cold plunge, traditional sauna, steam room and heated stone benches. Signature. bathhouse experiences include candlelit magnesium bath sessions, immersive sound baths, and community led sauna and ice plunge rituals designed to encourage emotional release and collective resilience.

It’s a space where wellness, performance, and social connections unite, designed to encourage the pursuit of feeling good. Elevated touch points throughout the club include a private laundry service, a fully stocked perfume and cologne bar, cold eucalyptus towels post-sauna and a personalised wellness concierge service offering tailored wellness support to enhance your wellbeing.

At The Commons, wellness goes beyond the gym. Members can connect over organic smoothies at our café or immerse themselves in regular wellness workshops and community events including bathhouse socials featuring live music and DJ sets.

“The Commons has always been about more than just workspaces. It’s about creating a community that thrives,” says Cliff Ho, Co-Founder, and CEO of The Commons.

“After nine years of building and nurturing communities in the workspace, we are excited to integrate wellness, further enhancing the member experience and supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of our members. We’re seeing a real shift, especially among younger generations towards valuing holistic health and more balanced work lives. We’re proud to be at the forefront of this evolution bringing together work and wellness in a way that is accessible, harmonious and aligns with the flexibility of today’s work style and the needs of the modern individual”.

The new Richmond location focuses on flow, clarity, and calm, straying from the conventional muted tones typically seen in such spaces.

Designed by DesignOffice, the space will feature a material palette of cork, timber, and concrete, paired with a tactile and warm base, accented by saturated colours to bring personality and balance. Playful colour choices and a strong sense of character define the main areas, making this The Commons’ most elevated space to date. The launch is part of an ambitious multi-year expansion strategy for The Commons coworking spaces, health clubs and hospitality.

Following Richmond, the second Health Club location is set to open in South Yarra in January, 2026. The Commons Health Club is set to redefine the way businesses approach well-being, creating an unparalleled synergy between work and life.
