YVO, the women’s wellness brand on a mission to redefine bone health in midlife, today announced that Tamsen Fadal, an Emmy Award–winning journalist, bestselling author, and one of the most trusted voices in midlife women’s health, has joined the company as Chief Wellness Officer. Fadal will co-pilot brand and content leadership, advise on the company’s narrative across midlife, longevity, and bone health, and serve as a public face of the brand as it scales.
“Tamsen has shifted the public conversation around menopause and midlife, giving millions of women permission to take their own health seriously,” said Marie Berry, Founder and CEO of YVO. “She is the voice this category has been waiting for, and she is exactly the partner we want to build with as we define a bone health brand for women. Having her shape and share in our story is a proud and exciting milestone for the company.”
Tamsen spent more than three decades as a television news journalist, including the last 15 in New York City. After experiencing perimenopause largely without information or support, she stepped away from the anchor desk to focus on midlife women’s health, building one of the largest social audiences in the category and becoming a leading advocate for menopause education, research, and workplace policy. She is the author of the New York Times bestselling book How to Menopause: Take Charge of Your Health, Reclaim Your Life, and Feel Even Better than Before, host of The Tamsen Show podcast, and the executive producer and host of the documentaries The (M) Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause and The (M) Factor 2: Before the Pause, which has been screened in workplaces, hospitals, and communities across the country. Her work has helped move menopause from a private struggle into a mainstream cultural and policy conversation.
As Chief Wellness Officer, Tamsen will work closely with YVO’s founder and leadership team on brand and narrative strategy, content, media, and community, with a particular focus on wellness, longevity, and bone health.
“I’ve spent the last several years listening to women tell me what they wish they had known earlier about their hormones, their hearts, and their bones,” said Fadal. “Bone health is one of the most overlooked, most consequential parts of aging well, and almost no one is talking to women about it before it’s too late. YVO is. Marie has built a brand that takes women in midlife seriously, with a beautiful product that actually fits our bodies and a community that shows up for each other. I’m proud to join as Chief Wellness Officer and help bring this message to many more women.”
Tamsen’s appointment comes as YVO continues to make significant strides, including the recent appointment of Co-Founder and COO Chiara Moore, a sold-out first production run of the Warrior Vest, an active community across cities nationwide grown entirely organically, and continued strong momentum in traffic, demand, and brand engagement. Tamsen joins YVO at a a key inflection point. This summer, YVO will debut the Hamptons Route, a community walk experience on the East End that brings the brand’s signature weighted-walk practice to one of summer’s most active wellness corridors. The Hamptons Route follows the company’s Austin launch and the upcoming New York City debut, and continues YVO’s city-by-city expansion through 2026.
