SOND is putting sleep data to work.
What’s happening: The sleep tech company emerged from stealth with $7M to launch its adaptive, sleep-coaching earbuds.
In your dreams. Co-founded by Bose’s former head of sleep, SOND’s Dreambuds measure 12 physiological signals across HRV, breathing depth, heart-lung synchrony, movement, and more.
Its AI coach generates audio programs spanning breathing exercises, calming soundscapes, and binaural beats, adjusting in real-time and learning which personalized inputs work best. Keeping phones on nightstands, its case is outfitted with a screen and buttons.
Best buds. Following an open crowdfunding round, SOND will begin mass production in Q2, entering an in-ear sleeptech category already on the move.
Built on Bose IP, Ozlo Sleep is boosting its Sleepbuds’ audio capabilities with a Calm partnership while acquiring neuroscience platform Segotia to advance biometrics. Dosing “pink noise” with EEG, NextSense raised $16M, while Sychedelic is prepping headphones delivering tDCS neurostimulation.
Punchline: From in-ear hearables to smart mattresses, the next generation of sleep tech will preempt every toss and turn.
