Big-Box Gyms Bring Reformer Pilates In-House

Stretching value.
Crunch Fitness Reform Pilates studio

Reformers are reaching the masses.

What’s happening: HVLP gym chain Crunch Fitness will debut a dedicated reformer Pilates studio inside its new McKinney, Texas club, opening in 2026.

Built in. Blending big-box scale with boutique programming, the in-gym studio will feature 10+ reformer machines, with instructor-led group classes focused on strength and flexibility.

Among the first HVLP players in the US to embed the premium modality, the move builds on Crunch 3.0 — the brand’s reimagined club blueprint.

Expanding strength floors, adding recovery zones, and modernizing fitness studios, the upgrades signal a broader category shift, as low-cost gyms pivot from price-led positioning to experience-led value.

Breaking budget. Aligning economics, budget gyms are joining the surging Pilates economy, with 24 Hour Fitness remodeling clubs to deliver Reformer24 classes.

A global movement, Everlast Gyms is adding reformer studios to new UK locations, as Snap Fitness is rolling out smart reformers across European clubs. Australia’s Goodlife Health Clubs and The Netherlands’ TrainMore (via PILAT3S) are scaling club-in-club concepts, while PureGym preps Reformer Pilates studios for key UK locations.

Punchline: As premium modalities like reformer Pilates move in-house, HVLP operators like Crunch are competing on access, not exclusivity, to fuel growth.
