Consumer health is being embedded deeper into daily life.

Gen Z wants out of the feed

Gallup’s 2026 World Happiness Report found declining well-being among Western youth, with social media use emerging as a major factor.

  • Poor outcomes linked to algorithmic, influencer-heavy platforms, while communication-oriented platforms were associated with better results.
  • However, the authors suggest quitting cold turkey may cause more harm in places where online connection is socially important.

At odds, Gen Z recognizes the downside of social media, but many still feel stuck because their social lives run through these platforms.

Ready for a reset, the next phase will be new norms, new devices, and new defaults for what digital life should look like after the feed.

Technogym Reaches New Heights

The Italian fitness equipment maker reported over €1B in 2025 revenue, up 13.1%.

  • Technogym’s commercial business rose nearly 15%, while consumer revenue grew 6.2%.
  • The strongest channel growth came from retail, which jumped 40.7%.

Technogym CEO Nerio Alessandri said increased demand for healthy longevity and strength training in the GLP-1 era is driving momentum.

The bigger picture: fitness equipment companies are linking strength, prevention, and personalization as part of the proactive healthcare model.

Andrew Huberman maps the new health stack

On The a16z Show, Andrew Huberman argued the next phase of consumer health will be built around data, devices, and drugs.

  • Post-COVID, consumers have accepted health as a personal responsibility.
  • Fitness has evolved from fringe bodybuilders to a mass form of self-care x preventative health.

According to Huberman, the scale is massive. Half of Americans could be on some form of GLPs within five years, while peptides may go mainstream.

With advanced healthtech and lofty aging goals on the horizon, systems will be forced to adapt.

For the empowered wellness consumer, personalized protocols, connected devices, and pharmaceuticals that work together will form the foundation.
