Fitbit founders introduce a wearable for aging parents
James Park and Eric Friedman, the co-founders of Fitbit, have launched Luffu and its first product, Link — a screenless, LTE-connected wearable designed to help families stay connected to aging parents.
- The wristband combines health tracking, AI voice logging, and GPS, while Luffu’s app lets family members keep up with things like mood, meals, medication, and location.
- The company is also building an in-home care coordination device as part of a broader connected care system.
With 75% of Americans saying they want to age in place, Luffu is tapping into a growing need for technology that can support older adults at home while giving families visibility into their care.
Amazon bets on the HYROX boom
Amazon is partnering with HYROX to launch branded digital storefronts across the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands, selling everything from supplements and training equipment to apparel and performance products.
The partnership also extends into the race itself. Amazon will title-sponsor HYROX in December, while supporting athletes with workout-specific Amazon Music playlists and on-site mini-markets for last-minute essentials.
Expecting 2M competitors across 107 races, HYROX is evolving from a race into a global fitness ecosystem. From one brand platform to another, Amazon’s partnership will fuel the fitness-as-a-sport lifestyle.
Berry Street and Healthify join forces around GLP-1 care
The US nutrition startup has merged with India’s Healthify, combining Berry Street’s network of over 2,000 clinics with Healthify’s AI-powered nutrition and fitness platform.
- The combined company will operate as Berry Street in the US, with the two founders serving as co-CEOs.
- Combining Healthify’s 45M+ customers and over $200M in combined funding, the merger comes as GLP-1 adoption continues to expand.
The bet is on combining AI-powered daily nutrition support with human clinicians and insurance-covered care.
